The first of the 289 K239 Chunmoo MLRS systems have arrived in Poland. It's expected that another 17 will arrive before the end of the year.

Good.We should not bother with HIMARS,only buy those.Buing from USA is recipe for being blackmailed to gave pederast our children, jews our money,or something like that.

Nobody should buy anytching from them,as long as they use it for changing interial politics.

Gee, I wonder if Ukraine will somehow get some of those missiles, even though they're officially just for NATO armament?

Things are getting worse for Russia by the minute. smh

The story explicitly says the production boost is "to supply Ukraine" as well as replenish NATO stockpiles. Is the story incorrect as to what officials claim?
I missed that; I thought it was just to help NATO's stockpiles.

Good to know it's for Ukraine, too. :)

Thay isn't why though.
Because it would also he the AF and Naby fleets as well.

Also, it would depend on if it is a closed network or if they connect to the standard internet as an operating system.

I really hope they don't connect to the open internet, that would be ridiculous

Infact, they have a lot of encryption on them just for connection to classified systems let alone the encryption from outside in

You guys spend à lot of money on overengineered stuff, so it wouldn't surprise me you guys made someone build an already overpriced plane and at the same time cut corners somewhere.

Your government is notorious to routinely wàste money on tech trinkets.

And yes, we spend money on trinkets so everyone else can learn if it actually works

That remains to be seen.

So basically your DOD and other agencies related defense are enjoying spending your own countrymen's tax dollars being used on stuff that only MIGHT work? So you MIGHT learn it later if it actually does?

Basically yes, since the Cold War (and to a lesser extent WW2, but to be fair everyone was doing that in WW2), the US military just threw shit at the wall to see what stuck.

Even stuff like superglues came from them (as a quick way to stitch up broken soldiers in Vietnam without using needle and thread).

Congratulations, you have discovered that yes, taxpayer funded research is a thing, and unlike in videogames, ambitious research sometimes, in fact quite often, yields little to no useful result.

If you only bet on sure things, you miss a lot of opportunities. Half the reason the rich get richer is they can afford to bet and lose a few times when the bets that pay off more than compensate; but you have to be able to eat a few losses, or willing to risk everything.

Yes.
Because how else ar you supposed to make sure an idea works.
For instance, railguns.
We have been working on them, but they have been deemed not worth the money due to a variety of reasons.

Same with aircraft etc.
