AFAIK, there wasn't any evidence those Comets were being used, either in frontline or second-line service.

That's what I was wondering: are these front line units, or the equivalent of the USS Constitution, the USS oldest commissioned warship, manned by naval personnel, but is very clearly in a different category than "normal" commissioned ships.

Constitution's stated mission today is to promote understanding of the Navy's role in war and peace through educational outreach, historical demonstration, and active participation in public events as part of the Naval History & Heritage Command. As she is a fully commissioned Navy ship, her crew of 75 officers and sailors participate in ceremonies, educational programs, and special events while keeping her open to visitors year round and providing free tours. The officers and crew are all active-duty Navy personnel, and the assignment is considered to be special duty. She is usually berthed at Pier 1 of the former Charlestown Navy Yard at one end of Boston's Freedom Trail.

I find it strange if they were just ceremonial: I mean, the Constitution has history behind it.

Unless I'm missing something, like these tanks had some major role in some conflict (as a hypothetical/fantastical example, a Sherman that blew up Hitler or Stalin would have the same sort of status as the Constitution thus be put in a museum), these just seem like regular, obsolete Cruisers?

They seem to be the first type of tank they had, certainly the only British ones, so it ties back to that colonial history: they did seem to either at the same time or later get American tanks, like Shermans and Stuarts, but that's just US surplus, so doesn't have cultural significance. Line stuff mostly seems to be Chinese and soviet stuff like t-72s.

Blimey, I didn't realize they were still using the old Cruisers.

I guess it makes sense in hindsight, especially with how some nations are still using T-54's and the like, but the difference is that Soviet monkey models were exported everywhere, while British arms, in comparison, weren't.

I'd have thought there would've been some type of modernization package, even a crude one, for the tank, though? I can't see any differences to indicate it's been modified in some way...
Britain occupied Myanmar from 1824 to 1948, so it really shouldn’t be surprising that they left behind a bunch of military hardware from that time period.

A few years back, they dug up(literally, they were disposed of by burying them) some late-model Spitfires in Burma, that had aeronautical museums all in a tizzy. Don't know what happened to them since they were found

Did someone ask for an Encore?

No... well too bad.

Part III of Fictional Tanks Size Comparison has been released by AmazingViz... I'm assuming solely due to popularity and nerdrage for things not mentioned.

I can only bet there was a lot of fan feedback on this one (just like with the Mechs/Mecha vid etc) but they got beautiful fictional tanks from lots of settings. Battletech, Dune, Metal Gear, Fallout, Destiny, Command & Conquer and various niche Nintendo or Sega or Computer games etc.

I don't think anyone will be able to guess who got the biggest tank this time.

Well actually maybe they would... but not the SECOND biggest tank featured in the video.

A Part IV you say of Fictional Tanks Size Comparison? Why yes they did just release one. I feel there's a danger of them being typecast as they keep churning out the tank size comparison videos.

Apparently all of these are armored vehicles mentioned in the comments section of their previous Tank Size Comparison videos.

That final tank is a real big boy though and a very niche reference. 👌

Ukrainian Challenger-2 Tank

The change of coloration from the desert camo and the reactive armor (especially from this angle) really mask its distinctive edges and form from an ignorant Layman's eye like me. I'd have no idea what kind of tank it is. Might be more recognizable looking at it from the side though. I feel the Challenger has a more distinct side profile.

Not to be a bad boy, but this is a debunking of that crappy video.

And,that supposed miracle should be arleady mass-produced.To be precise, they should have 2300 of them.
One of polish @paulobrito ,forget name, before war made book where soviets take over Poland loosing 20 tanks.
If that happened on Ukraine,i would not have problem with your post.

Thank you Lazerpig for compelling Red Effect to make a fifty minute Tank Lore Video. The dudes been slacking in content with his <12 minute videos and atuff.

Well, about the two videos - one presents sources, and the other does not.
The number of factual errors in the lazerpig video is huge.

I don't know if I saw the Lazerpig video yet but I'm pretty sure he uses sources. It's just like a good Forum/Internet Debater, you use the sources to better inform your argument and present it as objectively superior source based information... because it is since your opinion is right.

Both have sources, and red even says he uses the sources lazerpig referenced.
And Red even says he is pretty right about it being bad, just he debunked some claims and had valid sources to back it up.
It wasn't like he made a "YOU SUCK AND EVERYTHING YOU TALKED ABOUT IS WRONG YOU UKRAINIAN SIMP!".
No he articulated like an actual civil debate.
Which most on here don't recognize
