The Americas The Tyranny of Trudeau's Canada

Quebec just needs to leave take the bandage rip it off and form their own country. This middle ground thing isn't working for anyone
Montreal is both a major commercial hub and an Anglophone bastion (it's where most of the 'No' votes on both of the secessionist referenda to date came from on those counts) while the First Nations on reservations in northern Quebec have made it clear time & again that they favor dealing with the federal government (even under Trudeau) than with the Quebec provincial government. In the event that Quebec actually finally secedes, they'll counter-secede right back to Canada in a hurry. And no Montreal or chunks of the north = any hypothetical 'Republic of Quebec' is immediately rendered a non-viable territory.

Also, as is common with everything cultural touched by the Boomers, the Quiet Revolution has done serious and increasingly apparent damage to Quebec's traditions & culture since the mid-20th century, something lamented in their music.

Anyway, on the subject of Muslims and the alphabet soup getting along about as well as oil and water, as well as the potential of a united Abrahamic front against the latter...

Again, war and politics create strange bedfellows.

it would be the height of hilarity if the lgbt crowd got the Abrahamic faiths to unite under one banner I wonder if stuff like this happens more and more often if the differing sects and denominations will start to cross pollinate ideas and spawn some kind of weird new fourth(fifth do Mormons count as the fourth?) abrahamic faith maybe we are due some new super charming and charismatic prophet

...

No. Definitely not.

Edit: Honestly I'd be alright with some kind of political alliance against stuff we all agree is terrible.

But there would be no amalgam religion or anything. They fundamentally disagree on very important things.
What he says. It’s not likely to happen in the slightest. And even if some sort of ‘alliance’ does happen remember the enemy of your enemy is just an ally of convenience. Nothing more. Especially in Islam’s case.

Maybe not an entirely separate religion but I could see several new denominations being spawned especially from the Christian groups getting fed up with the more organized denominations rolling over for this over and over again and maybe not taking scripture from the Muslims but ways of thought and organizing kinda like how the medieval church had a lot of influence from Aristotle and Plato but subsumed it into a Christian world view. If you get enough groups of parents fighting this stuff over time cultural exchange is probably going to happen.

on a separate note if Quebec did secede what kind of government do you think they would make for themselves? Would they copy Canada but on a smaller scale or maybe France something completely different? have the people on the forefront of quebec independence even said anything to that nature?

I would actually say that we would have a better chance of having an entirely new religious movement that is influenced by both Christian and Muslim creeds, although it would be more of an ideological movement than a religious one, given that Islam does not tolerate apostasy. Similar to Mughal Emperor Akbar's attempt at inter faith dialog.

On the other hand, the forest fires are starting up once more, and they'll blame climate change for this again. As if MAiD and high taxes aren't killing us off faster already.

No no new religions. Also no Mormons aren’t Christian or even Abrahamic Mormons are polytheists. Alliance with Muslims is fine because there are worse threats out there, we stay out of each others internal affairs and protect each other when another group like secularists attack one of us. Something like that would be possible.
