What it comes down to is that the Ukrainian supporters don’t seem to trust their fellow citizens very much.
They do not trust the public of their nations to make the correct decision, so the public cannot be exposed to an alternative viewpoint. The public are idiots, so better that they not get exposed to dangerous misinformation.
It’s ultimately a very elitist viewpoint.
You’re treating your fellow citizens like children, infantilizing them in a way.
Let the public be exposed to the information, be prepared with logical arguments that aren’t centered on emotion, and let the debate happen.
