The X-Men are supposed to be 'generic mcoppressed minority' particularly the blacks. Which is why people hate these people with in born superpowers instead of being excited their kid could be a superhero. Right? Makes total sense. Something, something, fear of something, fight racism. But that was the legit intent.
So, the enslavement by the 'good guys' of another one of the 'good guys' is like if a Black homosexual transwoman enslaved the muslim pansexual transman. Except the writers don't get that, because they don't actually have things like principles, conviction, ethics or morals.
Nobody who currently writes for Marvel has ever been oppressed. Made a second class citizen, etc, etc. Not really, not the way that it used to be. And most of the time in the modern day, they're doing the oppressing/bigoted acts.
So what should be a recurring storyline about community, found family, the difficulties therein, and equality had turned into (Again, actually) a supremacist ethno-police-state where enslaving one of your most prominent members is okay, because you're doing it not the Oppressing Sub-Human Straight White Mundie Men.
