while I understand never wanting to deal with middle manangment assholes lockdown's really fucking hurt a lot of people like people who do resturant work, and hair dressers, and whole portions of the economy that require you to be physically there. Yeah I get it office work is a special kind of hell but its only a portion of americas economy and every thing else is needed to avoid great depression 2 electric boogaloo.
I agree, that is why I think that some level of distancing and protection should have been required and that people should have been left to go to restaurants and hairdressers at their own risk.

Honestly I like the fact that people wear masks in food stores and have to clean their hands before entering, I also like it when there are sneeze shields at the checkout counters and idiots don't step on my heels there.(I like my personal fucking space, and I am something of a germophobe)

The lockdown should have been something along the lines of, "If you can work remotely, you work remotely" and Boomer managers would have been banned from blocking that.

I actually flourished during the pandemic, with my salary increasing a decent amount, not having to go to an office and eating at home freed up a massive amount of time that in turn let me improve my skills and get a bunch of certificates, all remotely, which in turn gave my CV a big boost, I also lost a few kilos and managed to increase my physical activity with the help of a treadmill.
Obviously I didn't waste any money on the overpriced hypster trash that usually gets sold around places with lots of office space.

I am not returning to an office, ever!

so all of this was just one big waste of our time and money.

Not at all. The rich elites gained control of more money and power than at any other point in known history. Various places were purged of dissidents that wouldn't just follow orders. The government got to test what levels of tyranny they could achieve. And they damaged capitalism significantly paving the way for super rich elites to try and enact their global socialist agenda.

They got a lot of what they wanted.

If you mean regular non evil people, yeah we got screwed.

So, this an unconfirmed rumour so take this with a grain of salt, but this friend of mine is that they commuting the narrative to get ready for what's gonna happen in Ukraine. That's what why in Italy they are likely going to extend the emergency until 31st of December.

The thing about "with" Covid, vs. "from" Covid can not really mean all that much, because the question becomes, would they still have died if they had not gotten Covid? In some cases, this is pretty obvious, where the person was shot or something, but they'd tested positive for Covid so that somehow counted as a Covid death. But if it's something like the person was obese, or had diabetes, or got a secondary infection, can't it be said that this person still died because of Covid?

That's something that requires good faith on both parties to determine. As soon as you have one side putting GSW deaths down as Covid, you don't have the trust required. Are some of the died with statistics likely legitimate Covid deaths? Maybe, but the people doing the reporting are so deceptive and show so little good faith that it's hard to tell.

Not really because you can just point that in the other direction as well. They would be able to survive covid but they were obese or something else. Would it be fair to say they died of obesity if the covid would have been fine without it?

It's just contributing factors. A bunch of stuff weakening a person until the combination overcomes them.
