It isn’t a matter of not caring at least for me, I just recognize that geopolitics has always been this way, and that the major powers can and will always be able to go after the minor ones, the UN isnt worth the paper it was built on, and planning to oppose a country your alliance depends on for fuel isn’t a bright idea.
