Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

Another Twitter update! Keep in mind this is all to be taken lightly

'Ghost of Kyiv' Pilot identity deduced.

This War is distracting us from climate change which... Technically is true, according to esteemed politician, diplomat and Democratic Climate Czar John Kerry.

Supporting Ukraine means you support the Sequel Trilogy.

This War is just like that time in Harry Potter when...

Again, this forum needs a "headslap" or a "are you fucking kidding me, are they that stupid?" emoticon.

The sanction list is out, no effect on Russian energy, so no $10 gas, but also no real effect on the Russian economy.

Any idea of what the casualties are so far? The media is reporting only a few hundred Ukrainians, which seems really tiny relative to the stories of fighting.

Realistically, we won't know for some time as reporting systems are likely breaking down just due to fighting and that is also sensitive operational details you just don't want to leak till necessary.

People shooting at you makes the drive longer as you have to shoot back.

It also indicates that Russian Troops are better trained to fight actual peer foes and win and have a better warfare doctrine.
It indicates jack shit.
They attacked from 3 fronts, while having a direct border for logistics and a very long preparation. USA had a staging area on another continent and still attacked just from one, short border (Kuwait).

I would like to take a moment in this thread to point out two things.

One - I repeat that I was wrong thinking that Russia wouldn't attack, but I also reiterate that I am not condemning it either, because Ukraine pretty much was enthusiastically doing everything it possibly could to provoke an attack.

Two - In the modern era, Poland and Russia have fought twice. The first time, with no support, Poland thoroughly kicked Russia's ass and forced Russia to back the hell down. The second time Poland lost, only because it was being invaded by both the Nazi's and the Soviets at the same time and had insufficient resources to defeat them both. And still did better than France.

Oh, and three, so long as you follow the rules, feel free to debate enthusiastically with mods, even owners, we might shake our fist at you and make growly faces, but we promise not to hit you just for disagreeing with us. Well, hit you with mod/admin powers, we'll gladly hit you with endless sarcasm and rhetorical bludgeons.

After shooting down six jets yesterday, he doubled his kill count today!

Flying north, he shot down a trio of Russian Medevac helicopters loaded with wounded, then a Russian firefighting plane loitering over the Chernobyl Exclusion area, an air ambulance carrying Alexei Navalny in Belarus, then straddled the border region and got a final kill shooting down an airliner at the Donetsk Airport which later turned out to be filled with Donbass Jewish refugees on a flight to Israel (no males between 18-60 are allowed to leave)!

But he wasn't done. In his second sortie he struck a quartet of merchant vessels engaged in probable replenishment operations with the Black Seas Fleet near Crimea and completely wiped out a POW camp on Snake Island, denying those assets and propaganda value to the enemy!

He can't be stopped!

What does that have to do with my question about any large scale mechanized battles taking place and how the T-90 performed?
Oops. my bad.

Too many quotes and forget yours. Sorry about that.

That stuff is related to a different quote, the one about Vlasov's army insignia.

About T-90s . . .

We haven't seen any.

Nor have we seen a single TOS-1.

Or any of Russia's more advanced gear like the T-14 and stuff.

Which I find strange . . .

Ghost of Kyiv.
He's a propaganda tool.

I doubt such an individual exists and his kill claims are highly suspect, especially since we haven't seen any Russian fighter wreckage beyond that Su-25 that got fireballed.

Also, unless Russia has video proof of the Ukrainians surrendering, we actually have footage of the Island being bombarded..
Island got shelled to hell.

Whatever Ukrainian units on the island died.

Russians now have control of Snake Island

If you do actually indeed feel this strongly for Putin's "cause" and aren't just shitposting, you could volunteer to assist the Russian invasion in Ukraine, as I assume you're legal age. Pretty sure they wouldn't mind another recruit.
I don't really care about Putin's cause.

I just delight in seeing another WEF puppet getting ripped to shreds.

You wouldn't understand, because your sitting safe in your home while we in Canada had to endure a WEF puppet attempting to take over the country Hitler style.

Which only failed because he tried to say "I am the Senate!" and the Senate got up and told him to fuck off.

They unfortunately act that way because they simply CAN. :( It's the way of the internet, it's easy for anyone to be a tough-guy keyboard warrior and spout "ideological flavor of the month" on an internet forum.

It doesn't. He just likes to rant.
Aha, the typical war hawk RINO.

still thinks that invading Afghanistan and Iraq was a good idea.

Every time you Yankee goobers have gone somewhere with your big army in recent history, you leave the country in shambles and the region in chaos.

Somalia, 1993. Place is still a total hellhole. Pirates are gone but the warlords and islamic nutheads are still there. A bunch of them attacked a Kenyan mall a few years back. Nice job.

Afghanistan, 2001. Over 20 years and thousands upon thousands of lives later, we are back at step one. Taliban is in charge again and this time they got a free pile of high quality military gear from the shitfaced Afghan Vichy collaborator government (composed of corrupt pedophiles, I will add) that lasted for less than 1 week on their own. However, since the Taliban are acting somewhat more humanely (it's mostly for show and propaganda, but still) I will give you a quarter point on this one.

Iraq, 2003. Place is still a total shithole with Turks, Kurds, ISIS, and Iraqis running around shooting each other. All the ISIS bigwigs somehow knew each other from a US detainee camp during the 2003 invasion . . .

Libya, 2011. Went from a decent place where I could go hang out on the beach and go fishing to complete anarchy. Also, the slave trade somehow reemerged as well. ISIS has a small foothold there as well. Excellent work.

Syria, 2014. Just like Iraq, replace Iraqis with Syrians. ISIS has an even bigger foothold there. Also used to be a semi-decent place, worse than Libya, but still, I could go and have a coffee in Damascus back in 2010 without getting bombed or something.

That's probably the reason the Russians are "detaining" the Staff there. There's no other reason to hold them "hostage" as reported by some sources in comparison to other civilians beyond the fact they're the ones who have been maintaining the Site.

Edit: In spite of loathing the Putin government for creating this War I'm willing to give the Russian military by and large the benefit of a doubt in that they don't want to act like shitheels but acting with a desire to minimize casualties and suffering.
Probably just telling them in a very loud voice who they work for now.

Not even Putin is foolish enough to touch Chernobyl.

Zelensky still in Kiev, not afraid
WEF clown crawls out of Soviet era nuclear bunker to say a few words before hurrying back.

This is called real bravery.

If they have a V or Z they are Russian
You forgot the white "O".

It's all just for show.

No, I admit being tired at repeating myself over and over and over.
Contrary to popular belief, Putler does not pay me to shitpost on here, and talking to those two about the complexities of foreign affairs and geopolitics is like trying to explain programming to five year old pumped full of caffeine.

Also, I am completely and utterly fed up with the Polish obsession with Russia and their inferiority complex where it is concerned.
They are suffering from tunnel vision and anyone can easily turn them into pawns and use them, then isolate them internationally.
You must forgive @Zachowon.

It is part of his job to act like a RINO.

He has to do it, or Biden won't give him his paycheck at the end of the year.

Ok boomer.

(I'm just joking BTW and I'm referring to your profile picture.)

Not really, seems like the Russians are mostly holding back their best units and gear just in case; they've apparently only deployed about 30% of the ~190k forces massed at the borders. Was pretty smart overall given that this allowed them to waste their lower quality units to act as meat shields for the better ones, achieve much of their goals anyway, and have a reserve to clean up anything that pops up or deal with a NATO intervention. If the first wave works out then all the better. Of course that doesn't apply to the Kyiv attacks, which seems to have burned up some important assets, though as someone already mentioned that could well work out in their favor, as the Ukrainians had to respond and come out into the open instead of defending the capital and where they will face the ground units coming in from Belarus on terrain that advantages the Russians.
