Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

Makes sense, keep good men out in case nato does something, and you also get live fire training for your less qualified soldiers.
Nothing builds up unit cohesion and effectiveness like surviving and winning a real engagement. If this were CIV, Russia would be feeding these Green units into a fairly weak enemy in order to get their ratings up.

Encircling and destroying what is presumably the bulk of Ukraines army in the east would probably be more likely to get a surrender than taking Kiev plus is avoids a potential quagmire.

I think Russia is trying to create multiple pockets via continuous pressure all along the front and induce an operational shock that causes units to disintegrate and surrender. Essentially the Taliban Strategy, just that Russia has the logistics, mobility, and air control to do it faster and more efficiently.

Anyone that can read the sign in this vid as to where this Hospital is?

you forget in a lot of countries the capital is also the logistical hub, the keystone for the railroad network, take that and the enemy logistics is crippled.
Map seems to check out on this.

You ask me I'd rather fight an army in the field than get stuck fighting street by street and door to door.
You don’t even need to take it, you can just encircle and siege, tough Russian seems to want to go in anyways.

I'm curious on why it's assumed that the missiles hitting ships are all Russian? Don't the Russians have a large presence in and around their alleged amphibious landing in the south? As people have said, there are like a couple Ukraine ships total, while the Russians on the other hand have far more. This has the feel of that friendly fire Sam strike being called a Russian plane shot down.

One was apparently hit by a missile, another by a rocket and another by a shell or shells. Dunno about the fourth. In all cases it's been stated that the Russians were responsible for the strikes AFAIK.

And even in the case of the Moldovan Millennial Spirit struck 12km offshore it was Ukrainian authorities who responded and rescued the (ironically apparently predominantly Russian) crew, some who are currently hospitalized.

Apparently, Russian had only committed 80k soldiers from the troops they had massed around Ukraine, and not even their best ones, we’ll see how it goes next.

It was estimated at 30-60,000 yesterday so a gradual ramping up if true
