Just remember every time you agree to a law you are signing your own death warrant in some manner. EVERY... SINGLE... TIME...
To be honest, the whole process of writing sweeping bills is something I've been suspicious about for a while (
as I wrote here).
In fact, even just glancing at
Congress.gov and picking a couple of random bills to read should tell you how amended to Hell they are with all sorts of riders and re-wordings that'd make the people who supported the base idea tear their hair out.
Frankly, we could've avoided much of this if voters stopped projecting their own ideals and sensibilities onto the politicians who decide what actually gets passed. Because ultimately,
you are not in charge and
you don't write the legislation you want passed. They, on the other hand, do — and by the time they're finished, odds are the final product will be unrecognizable compared to what you were actually hoping for.
