making inflation even worse.

are these people retarded or what?
They've been falling over each other for months explaining that their policies aren't the problem, it's greedy corporations.

There are dozens of variations on that article and they've been going for months. Heck, search for cause of inflation on Google and you get this at the top:

Inflation can occur when prices rise due to increases in production costs, such as raw materials and wages. A surge in demand for products and services can cause inflation as consumers are willing to pay more for the product.

Yeah, it's caused by rises in production costs, and chiefly your fault due to wanting to be paid more.

The first several articles I read all obfuscated about how inflation was mostly because of coronavirus, supply chains, people demanding too high of wages, and people who'd saved money spending it now that the lockdowns are ending. There's a very strong effort that has been going on for at least half a year to ensure people don't think this fiscal policy will cause inflation.

I like The Princess Bride as much as the next guy, and it is a great movie, but it probably shouldn't dictate national policy.
The original quote was from MacArthur after the Korean war. Shows how much you know about history.

This country is the single biggest bread basket on the planet if we have food shortages here then we have massivly fucked up.
On paper, yeah; but in practice? What little I know about the food industry in America tells me that it's been something of a barely-standing house of cards for decades.

They ARE aware this will cost them the election?
That's what the controlled opposition is for; an endless death spiral where each party takes turns with one ruining the country, and the other promising that they'll fix everything once they take power. It doesn't matter who wins; unless it's a complete outsider like Trump, we're screwed regardless.

The American food industry in its current form may be fragile, but speaking as someone now living in Iowa, it's the sort of thing that gets forced to rapidly be reformatted much more than just completely collapsing. While the middle and top end may be controlled by a handful of megacorps, there are a butt-ton of small-scale farmers and former-farmers ready to jump right back into the driver's seat of a tractor and keep things going if the current way the system is run goes wrong.
