It's hard to blame him as well when he had those horrible attack craft to work with. Were those flying coffins even shielded?

I don't think so. A single laser cannon blast detonated their proton payload pretty reliably in the movie. And to toot my own horn a bit...🤓

In honor of the release of the new Star Wars movie Final Trailer (in which we see at least one of these spacecraft)... let us celebrate the debut of the much beloved Resistance Bomber...

The MG-100 Star Fortress was apparently designed by a company known as Slayn & Korpil which made the second best bomber in the Star Wars canon, B-Wing. It is also known as the B/SF-17 Heavy Bomber... get it?

Now in a direct comparison to the B-Wing we can see how much better the Star Fortress actually is.

Payload:
The B-Wing can only deploy an anemic 12 proton torpedos
The MG-100 can deploy over ONE THOUSAND proton bombs

That's all you really need to know... With over a hundred times the destructive firepower of the much vaunted B-Wing, it is no surprise that the Resistance adopted an entire fleet of Heavy Bombers instead of B-Wings... or Y-Wings... or those Legendsdary K-Wings.

There are only some minor drawbacks to the MG-100 Star Fortress. Unlike the B-Wing which only requires a single pilot, the MG-100 requires a minimum of three crewmembers plus an extra two if you want to man the defensive laser cannons. Oh yeah... that's right... the B-Wing has almost the same armament level as the MG-100 but with the ability to be equipped simultaneously with a variety of ion cannons, laser cannons, blaster cannons and proton torpedo launchers the B-Wing is infinitely more versatile.

Also the B-Wing possesses a long range phased tachyon array complimented by a short range targeting grid, a targeting computer, holographic imaging, and a flight control and avionics system originally designed for small capital ships thus allowing it to engage enemy starships at range.

However the B-Wing does have some notable weaknesses. It is a very poor dogfighter and despite possessing a strong hull compared to Y-Wing's and a shield comparable if not superior to X-Wings, often requires an escort on its attack runs. It was also very expensive to manufacture.

Thankfully the MG-100 covered all of those weaknesses. By eschewing most of the avionics and targeting systems, the MG-100 merely has to fly over a target and using a simple bomb sights, dead drop a thousand proton bombs upon its target on a flyover, simplifying the process and no doubt reducing cost and flight crew training.

Also while the B-Wing has a powerful four thruster engine designed for a light freighter, the Star Fortress added two more thrusters which unfortunately only allow it a much slower acceleration and combat speed and very limited maneuverability. Also its shields and hull design leave it extremely vulnerable to enemy turrets and starfighters as an errant burst of laser cannons can detonate the proton payload.

However this can all be mitigated by simply flying in a box formation... or as seen in The Last Jedi a loose staggered line formation and escorted by a random swarm of X-Wing starfighters and far faster A-Wing interceptors. In this "box" formation the laser cannons combined with the escort fighters will protect the bombers during their slow linear bombing run which will take them directly over a vulnerable sweet spot on the enemy target.

Doomcock's dropped his latest leak rumors from his supposed Lucasart's insider. He talks about what's going on a bit inside Lucasart's which sounds like a fight between KK's in-group and anyone that has actual love for SW.

The rumor that interested me the most was the insider disputed the script leak... Not that said script wasn't leaked, but that there's no way that couldn't have been by accident. Rather that they think of the five people with access to the full script, one of them gave it to Boyega and told him to 'lose' it at a specific place.

Which does sounds like it could have water considering the sort of security star wars and other big movie scripts have had around them and what I remember from even the 'Empire of Dreams' documentary about the OT trilogy scripts.

As why would an actor of such of big movie, such a HUGE movie that Disney doesn't want leaks about possess the whole movie script rather than the script for the individual scenes their in that day or however else its handled.

Other rumors are that there's no way the supposed George Lucas cut which tested great, will be what we're getting. If George had pushed his cut, then that might have been what we got but he hasn't.

Personally I don't think he has the heart or interest in SW to try to make that push after Disney trashed his original ideas and whatever office politics are occurring.(Insert sad lucas.)

I gotta say, this grand narrative arc of George Lucas coming in at the last second to completely redeem the film only to be dragged down by Kathleen Kennedy and JJ Abrams sounds too... neat, to me. It's dramatic, a proper narrative even. Yes, truth can be stranger than fiction but if I was going to make up a tale, that would be the sort of thing I might make up.

From the sounds of it, the most George's cut of the movie would have done is make it an enjoyable and more importantly a coherent story. And coherent in-spite of supposedly adding a new skywalker last second.

As for there being a possible George cut, there were rumors of him script work for the movie and the sheer amount of endings and cuts which have been reported and the notable accuracy rumors so far, I'm rather hesitant to dismiss it. Then considering

JJ saying the movie was 'finished'(By some definition of the word.) only in the last week or two meaning they've been running this to the wire. Plus other with their own sources haven't been shooting down the claims, though Midnightsedge disputed the ass stomping(as in a literal stomping on Palps ass.) however I'm pretty sure that's him taking Doomcock's word far too literally as a non-native english speaker.

Now how enjoyable rather than that George's cut being palatable compared to how Disney-God damn it captainX, you beat me to it as I was typing this very post! :p

Anyway, yeah how actually good George's cut would actually be is debatable.

I'd still firmly say it'd be more enjoyable than whatever JJ's giving us.

Apparently not, seeing as a Tie Fighter crashing into one bomber caused them to lose three at once.

EDIT: Here, at 1:20 you can see the moment in question:

The Tie-Fighter gets shot down, the wreck crashes through the shields and armor, causing the bombs inside to explode.
Following that, the resulting shrapnel somehow punches through shields and armor, causing the other two bomber's bombs to explode as well. These bombers are shit!

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.

Begin the backstabbing has. When your acting career is in trouble thanks to the director fucking it up that's what you get no matter the buzzwords getting thrown out about toxicity and manbabies.

Apparently he was pretty surprised to find out that fans who dislike the movie feel that his character was done a real disservice. I can't help but think him finding that out has led to him bringing it up in an interview like this.

He doesn’t think or realise his character was done a disservice?

I think he was more surprised that people bashing on the movie thought so. He probably believed that whole "toxic fandom" thing until he actually read more about what people thought on Twitter fairly recently. I remember someone putting out video on it in just the past couple of weeks or so.

I wonder though, does he now realise that his character was shitted on or not, like he could do so much better without Rose for one

Hearing how there's people that want him to be in a gay relationship with Finn didn't help when he doesn't want that.

So, looking past Rise of Skywalker for a bit, I had a thought on what should be done with the franchise to help clean things up a bit:

A timeskip, and not a small one, like 100 years. Basically reset the galaxy to a clean slate a bit and give the fallout from the trilogy of trilogies time to settle out. Then put things together in an interesting way that will allow continual storytelling and perhaps less dependent on a single family.

They can deal with issues like peak spice/hyperfuel and Vong mass migration.
