So apparently the new EU has the Dianoga in ANH be sentient and some kind of Force shaman. And when it dragged Luke under the water in the trash compactor? It was giving him a Force baptism.

Waru has nothing on this.

Rather fitting isn't it?

Disney managed to baptize SW into liquid garbage after all. :V

Also link to its entry on the wiki case it's hard to believe that it's true.

Can we just call JJ Abrams the new M. Night Shyamalan at this point? He made a few hits that seemed great but it soon became apparent that he was utter shit and essentially a complete fraud?
I remember watching a review of M. Night Shyamalan movie After Earth, and in that video the reviewer goes into why someone like Shyamalan continued to have a career making movies, even though at the time it seemed like he destroyed everything he touched. Put simply, Hollywood is a cowardly creature of habit. They will almost always stick with what they already know, even if odds are it will likely fail, instead of risk trying something different. They're like lemmings in a sense; or at least, what we used to think lemmings were actually like.

Incestous Hollywood? I'm starting to realise that after TLJ.

After watching the days when relations with Lucasfilm was more friendly, I wish Donald Trump had a life extension just for him to buy out Lucasfilm from Disney so he can turn any new trilogy into his apprentice show.

Writers that keep fucking up? Points to them and says you're fired. Those pancy ass so called creatives with their weak ass woke shit? Points to them and says you're fired.

It would make for some funny fanfic.

JJ Abrams has a niche: brain-dead action flicks. He can do those very well. The problem is that Starwars is not a brain-dead action flick. Star wars is an epic, it has a story-arch that speaks to core archetypes of human experience, and it is that deep story-arch that allows us to forgive the sometimes flawed presentation.

Disney might be paying Rotten tomatoes to freeze TORS's score at 86%

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Original Link
86% at 6231 reviews
86% at 9628 reviews
86% at 11591 reviews
86% at 11815 reviews
86% at 11994 reviews
86% at 12205 reviews
86% at 12391 reviews
86% at 12960 reviews
86% at 17852 reviews
86% at 17927 reviews
86% at 18253 reviews
[86% at 18736 reviews] (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019))
Something feels wrong... It never budged? I've never seen this for any movie before. There's a SHITLOAD of money riding on this. And we can't calculate the score ourselves. It's all in the back-end. I've been using RottenTomatoes for around a decade and put at least 1000 reviews in.
Edit:
I will keep updating with new archive links and keep an eye on this.
Edit 2:
In the comments, /u/deathdealer351 pointed out that the Fandango's CEO, the owner of RottenTomatoes, is a former Disney Exec that's worked there for 16 years. It's more than possible he's helping Disney out for damage control.

Unfortunately, he made Lost; and that will always make Hollywood believe he can churn out a profitable product, despite what any of us might think of said show.

Anyone who still believes that Rotten Tomatoes isn't manipulating the results on behalf of corporate entities is an ignorant fool. We've known for quite a while that they do this.

This is most likely confirmed now as the Metacritic scores are substantially lower. The verified users for the most part also lack real profile pictures and look suspiciously like bots. Disney likely thinks that the inverse of the RT scores of TLJ will make it seem better. Audiences hated TLJ while critics loved it, and now critics are trashing TROS while the Audience score is perpetually stuck at 86%.

Also the Emperor coming back was done in such a half-assed manner. I loved Ian Mcdiamand's performance as always, but man the dude wasn't given a lot to work with. The movie feels off and what should have been two movies ended up being 1 very rushed one. I would have been fine if Disney just decided to release four films instead of sticking with a trilogy so that there would be a more coherent and well-developed story.

Is it me, or did anyone feel like Kylo had the best arc in TROS? I feel like if the movie focused on him and his redemption with the story focusing on completing the actual Skwalker Saga, then it would have been better. I felt really bored when I was watching Rey with Poe and Finn to be honest. They didn't feel like an actual group of friends like Luke, Leia, and Han because they were all pretty hostile and bickering with each other the whole time. Finn's character was wasted again, and Poe and Rey seemed like they hated each other. When they were hopping from planet to planet looking for Maguffins, I found it quite jarring and nearly fell asleep in the theater. Rey never really took any actual damage (aside from those few times she got hit with that droid) and her whole arc essentially tore down the legacy of Anakin Skywalker and Luke. She basically stole Luke's lightsaber, his name, and his and his father's legacy since she's essentially the new chosen one who destroyed Palpatine and the Sith while Luke's character was ruined by him becoming a coward who became a hermit and fled leaving his sister and best friend alone.

Rey's force healing as if it was nothing was only really used to heal minor wounds in the old lore, but now Rey can resurrect people back to life with a Force trick. This was the whole reason why Anakin turned in the first place. Yet somehow he failed to bring back Padme. Palpatine and his master Darth Plagueis spent decades studying this technique. Plagueis mastered over his long and illustrious career as a Sith Lord, but his knowledge was lost after Palpatine killed him. Palpatine was never able to replicate this.

I also disliked how easily Rey beat the Emperor by deflecting his lightning back at him. Mace Windu who was a Jedi Master did this and Palpatine just created a feedback loop and redirected all that power back to him after Anakin cut Mace's hand off. They also copied that scene of I am all the Sith and I am all the Jedi straight from Endgame. Everyone in my theater groaned when this was said, and some people walked out after.

Having watched The Mandalorian, I wanted to ask if there's going to be a physical copy of the season, like blurays or something.
So, are there any news about that?

Unlikely, physical copies defeat the meaning of the streaming service. Remember, companies prefer not to sell products but service, they don't want people to actually own stuff.
