Star Wars Star Wars Discussion Thread - LET THE PAST D-! Oh, wait, nevermind

Even if Squadrons' gameplay isn't canon, the technical descriptions, characters, and overall storyline should be. . . and they're really good, even if the Starhawk is the stupidest looking capital ship ever seen in Star Wars.

It's definitely noticeable how integrated Squadrons is with the rest of the Disney Canon; just about everything in the game is a reference to other stuff, a vast improvement over the old EU stuff that pretty much had each author independently making up contradictory (and incredibly wanky) details as they pleased.
The Starhawk reminds me of that ship from SWTOR.
The game is 100 percent canon and so is the game play to a degree. Mainly because we know the stuff the vehciels can do are as Kao is an ex racer and teaches you how to droft

eh still wish they'd make some refernces to EU, and it's going to take a while to get the stench of the ST out of my mouth

He sacrificed himself.

He could have defeated Jaina, but he gave away his victory for Allana’s sake.

to quote maul "History will see it differently."

is it better to be a man or a god? Is it better to be honored, or worshiped? Had Jacen gone down palpatine's path and learned from his mistakes he could have been a god and lived forever. Yet Jacen is dead and time marches on.

To be fair to Squadrons, the Starhawk wasn't invented for the game; it was introduced in the Aftermath series books.

I should add, on a more serious note, while I think Jacen may have had good intentions he made way too many enemies and ultimately he his desires were vanity. The universe would spin with or without the Fel empire. Star wars isn't marvel or DC it doesn't require a cosmic entity or a god emperor to stay in tact. Heck i'm 99% sure that the force could stop any and all outward manifistations, Jedi, Sith, Ect and the galaxy would still spin on.

I stand by my contention Jacen is perhaps the central character of the post ROTJ EU.

Eh Jacen was a more political savvy copy of Vader but palpatine IS star wars anything post bane. the galaxy was still feeling his inflance 100s of years AFTER his death.
I’m not referring to his status amongst the ranks of the Order of the Sith Lords?

But his status as a central figure in the post ROTJ EU.

*Shrugs* well who am I to argue but I never got Jacen's appeal. Thought he was a cheap hybrid of luke and han. Which was frankly probably the point. Wouldin't be suprised if Cadus was built first and the authors worked thier way backwards.
Dude, your speaking to the biggest Jacen fan this side of the internet.
