We don't attempt quarantine to stop the spread of influenza; the fact that this is spreading anyways despite our best efforts alone is indicative of the Corona virus's extreme virulence. As for other comparisons with the flu, they are simply disingenuous. For one, many of those we believe has COVID-19 are being treated by the best medical personnel available; while a majority of those who get the flu self-treat.

If you follow the Twitter thread of the French lawmakers illness, apparently they were at a Bar that caters to French Parliamentarians or is on or near the premises of the French parliament.
In regards to Iran, it infected some of their leadership early on and the Iranians were too busy covering up the coronavirus cases to a ridiculous degree as was illustrated earlier in the thread. The Iranians then were saying they only had 28 cases despite also tallying up six deaths... then like a day later high government Iranian officials tested positive for it.

That's Pneumonia which is a complication if your immune system doesn't stop this virus at the first stage, not a nice illness at all. Again though be aware of how many progress to that point with that severity. Its not something to be complacent about but try not to jump to the other end too.

Just be thankful that it is not an older generation mask. Before my conscription I tried out working out while wearing old M-1 mask, it was tortous experience. However army just introduced new Finnish masks, us being the first generation to use them, those were much more user friendly, especially since you could drink through it and your speech was understendable.

Two things, that I have to repeat god knows how many times because people dont seem to listen. Ok it is respecting one thing.
No matter the kind of mask you wear it will not prevent you from getting infected! You would need to wear a full body MOPP gear or hazmat. Because guess what! Ot can get in through your skin... oh and also guess what! It wouldnt matter because eith how the germs are you would basically need to have a way to get the hazmat suit off without your gloves getting into your place of living as it can live up to...what was it. 21 days before it dies? Like I get it precautions. But if the US military IN KOREA you know, where it is up there as one of the worst spots for it. Doesnt have more infected and we arnt wearing gasmasks or anything every where we go, maybe it is a sign that it isnt as bad.
It should also be said that, washing your hands thoroughly helps drool your risk of being infected with it greatly as it kills the germs.
Also you should see if you can get the Army issue gas masks. Because you can then get a gas mask filter for a canteen.
The US military has been using the same ones for years now. But they are good enough to protect against nerve agents so. Yay
