Some good news: the corona alert near my city, in Idar Oberstein, was a false alarm. There was a scare, but the initial suspect and 70 others were tested and determined to be not infected.

Of course, there's the possibility of then being asymptomatic carriers or whatever the term is, but I doubt it. Odds are too long.

Those who are "doomsaying" are not saying it is bad; they're trying to warn you that it is going to get bad at some point in the near future. I mean, you may as well use polls from the 2016 election, to try and justify why Trump shouldn't have won; the data simply isn't reliable enough.

There is another dangerous reaction one can have to a potential looming threat, in addition to panicking; and that's pretending there is no danger, as if that alone is enough to make it vanish in a puff of logic. I don't any of us knows what's going to happen for certain; and I think that, more than anything else, is what terrifies everyone.
