yowch that last one really does make you come off as a villain, taking advantage of the grieving family to multiply numbers for your cause
No no no. The myconid is not there to make more myconids. It is just there to speeden the decomposition cycle. Once its done it plucks a mushroom off of the remains and leaves.

Agh, its so hard to explain.

I mean, in summary you're breaking down a corpse into a very very bad state in front of the family members, the body out in the open and not even in a grave (which makes the gravekeeper title you said very confusing), gaining more mushrooms (you previously mentioned you were getting an actual Myconid to walk off with the original one) and...This is acceptable and humane?

I really don't get why you'd think someone would let you in if they knew what was gonna happen.

That excerpt was me experimenting on how to write a scene involving the decomposition.

This is how it'd actually happen in-game.
1. Somebody dies.
2. Specific bell is rung by the family if they are part of a nature religion, don't want their member to become undead or some other reason for why they would call a myconid.
3. Myconid comes to the gravesite and touches the buried ground.
4. Body decomposes rapidly by mushrooms.
5. One mushroom pops out of the ground and myconid plucks it.
6. Myconid leaves.

There are some established alternatives for ensuring the Dead do not raise;

Mortuary and Death Cults aren't just important, they’re practically a requirement. She is usually beseeched in burial rites to ensure the easy passing of the Dead to her realm(Or anothers, if claimed by some other God)- and so that the deceased will not partake in morbid dance with the Restless Dead.

Additionally, cremation is probably an option in the most dire and immediate circumstances. Or if you just culturally prefer disposing of your dead that way. I don't judge.

This method would only relate to those very nearby to the Collective, or ring the bell.

So what you're saying is if some Jihaka bandits/pirates want to remove evidence of a body they need to find a mushroom-man and bully a bell out of him, right? :V

They could, but reminder. The mushrooms speak to the myconids.

Would anyone be interested in joining the not-Argonauts? We'd be the group of Heroes and Avatars who joined up to oppose @DeTA and his Demon King during his first resurgence, after the Gods left the material world. It would've happened a long, long time ago.

I'll toss someone in, or multiple people, I just need to finish my sheet.

Hey, so for anyone who actually has centralized proper laws, would you be open to followers of Ti An being part of your lands in order to improve, uphold, and properly mete out the law? Basically people who help prop up police forces/lawyers/judges and more.

It would probably vary from city state to city states and state to state. Going to have different customs from place to place.

If anyone wants to discuss relations between our gods, feel free to pm me!

Same here! I'm open for a yarn here or in DMs. There's probably a distinction between relations before and after my death, though, so something to keep in mind!

I generally think we should all get into contact with each other about any sort of past history or relations if possible. It'll help worldbuild and establish history. We've been around each other for countless Eons, after all.

Definitely interested in being added to the list.

Question about the world's lore, what kind of nonhuman worshipers can be expected? Just standard orcs and elves and dwarves and the like, or are more bizarre sentients like kobolds and goblinoids kosher too?

Would Myconids be willing to do like a reverse life insurance policy?
