They’re only ‘active’ in the sense that SCOTUS hasn’t told them to knock it off. The Third Circuit, however, did.
The Georgia suit got rejected because not only did the plaintiff (the lawyer bringing the case) not have standing to sue, but his alleged remedy was that since his vote got invalidated, all votes should be invalidated. Instead of, you know, fighting to get his vote validated.
The real goal was undermine confidence in the system to a degree that the electors would be chosen by (Republican) state legislatures, or get the whole thing invalidated and punted to the House.
Trump and Powell have precisely jack and shit. If they did, the courts would have ruled differently. Like I said above, Trump’s real goal has been to convince the country the election was rigged, and that’s just not true. The actual court decisions and the testimony are publicly available. Trump and Co were overhyping things and when they got called on it by the courts, they admitted they didn’t have anything substantial.
Honestly, this is kind of how Trump handles things when he gets sued in general -throw enough bullshit into the courts that the other party gets too frustrated or runs out of money to slap down his challenges, even when the other party is in the right. The problem is that the DNC, like them or hate them, are just as tough.
Meanwhile he’s bitching out Loeffler and Perdue for not forcefully supporting his crackpot declarations, to the point where it may actually cost the GOP both races and control of the Senate. What he needs to do is accept that he actually managed to lose to Biden.
