Y'know, my sister had a dog once. Lovely thing, we had it all our childhood, but she kept it when I left home. Always loved her. But towards the end of its life, I could see it hobble down the stairs. She'd have to help the poor thing eat and drink out of a bowl. The amount of surgeries she gave that poor thing. I told her that, as much as I also loved that dog, and I knew that she deeply loved it, this was not love. This was a form of cruelty. To keep the charade going. It was never going to get better, poor Jacky was only going to get worse, and it was only going to cost her more in vet bills and medicine. I told her that I'd support whatever choice she made, it was her dog, but I advised her that it was time to put the poor thing down.
She refused. The dog died a few weeks later of bowel cancer, basically shitting out its intestines in excruciating pain. No good way for a dog to die. I went to her house to help her bury it, but I had made my peace with ol'Jacky months before, back when she could at least see me.
Anyway, my point is that dogs are expensive and you should just get a tortoise or something idk

I'm sorry, I tell a personal story and that's trolling? I admit, the bait and switch at the end to try and bring some levity into what is a fairly sad story for me might have been a bit much, but I don't think it's very nice to call that "trolling" when I am simply trying to relate on an emotional level. I apologise somewhat if it comes off that way, but I don't think that sort of response is very nice.
It is most definitely when it has no relation with the matter at hand and you are doing it just to dredge a response.
