United States Biden administration policies and actions - megathread

Sometimes I think he's failing those who elected him but this time he's doing what he does as befits his nickname to the Democrats.

There's an argument to be made for that, but as a Congressional leader I think he's done a really good job -sure, Trump was mad at him for not nuking the legislative filibuster, but that's because McConnell was thinking long-term and knows that the GOP would be in the minority again, so having it to serve as a check on the Democrats was far more important.

As it is, it's actually pretty funny because McConnell is not only thick skinned but known for appropriating disparaging remarks. Case in point with the Cocaine Mitch thing: he actually had his campaign make up t-shirts advertising membership in the "Mitch Cartel."

His nickname works both ways. It can be a compliment towards his attitude which I see why he accepted it as it makes him look tough and to his opposites in blue he's a stubborn asshole obstructing them on the path to their utopia.

If you think Mitch actually opposes the Democrats, then I've got a bridge I can sell you. The man is the perfect example of a Republican In Name Only; he talks a big game, but all his posturing is just that. In practice, he's yet another establishment politician; one of many who's been assigned the role of controlled opposition.

I don't like a lot of things he's done, but that's excessive. If nothing else, he helped Trump ram through a lot of judicial appointments.

He does it all. It's the swampy political games at play which includes taking advantage of the rules being changed when Reid changed senate rules.

He will also gladly stab Trump in the back for not being like him but he got lucky and remained unimpeached.

They should do an audit of Mitch's last election, make sure he got in legitly.

Actually, every race from 2020, and every race going forward, needs to be audited before any politician is seated.

After 2020 and all the shit I've heard of previous elections I'm convinced this is all the result of past election practices behind the scenes. They pulled every favor they can to get Trump out and the pork bill is part of paying their favors.

No shit its good against short range stuff.

Nixing the purchase over the Muslim Brotherhood-friendly crowd on the far-Left has just pissed Israel off severely.

I cannot think of the last time Israel pulled their ambassador from the US.
Honestly, it's probably for the best. We cannot be counted on as an ally anymore anyways.

We have our own against short range, ot just invovles spraying it full of bullets the closer it gets to the ground.

Idk why we nixed it. Can I get the story?

Not true.
The only way we could have saved A-stan is to stay there at least another 30 years, and hopefully be allowed to take out Pakistan.
If not, then we needed to get out.
Do not use A-stan as a "Can't be trusted" scenario...

I only know what I've seen floating around Twitter.

Seems like the anti-Israel crowd on the Left got an amendment stuck on the spending bill prohibiting the purchase as a 'screw with Israel, the Jews, and the Right all at one time' measure.

Not sure what stage the bill is at, but if Israel has already pulled their ambassador over even the possibility of it passing...

Did it make it past the house? What about senate?

I think it's one of those omnibus spending bills done in reconciliation between Senate and House versions.
Qhhh. We know it wouldn't pass the senate with such a thing. But the house is another story.

I'm not basing this on what happened in Afghanistan, but rather everything that's been going on as a whole with our government, ever since Biden was "elected" president. If I, as a citizen of this country, don't trust them; I don't see why any of our allies should either.
