Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

Tldr?
He suspended elections in his country?

The elections would've taken place next Spring. Technically elections can't take place while Martial Law is in place according to the Ukrainian Constitution. But if he really wanted to, he probably could've let the election process occur hypothetically speaking.

Two Russian soldiers were arrested by Russian authorities for the murder of all nine members of the Kapkan or Kapkanet family in the Donetsk Peoples Republic. Initial reports stated that the family of nine was killed by drunk Chechen soldiers who demanded to stay in their home but that may have been erroneous.

Update on the two soldiers facing trial for murdering an entire family in the DPR. 21-year-old Anton Sopov and 28-year-old Stanislav Rau were apparently Wagner PMC's prior to the Prigozhin Mutiny but then entered Russian military service soonafter. Initial reports suggest alcohol and drunkenness may have played a part in the massacre and the family massacred may have been involved in the sale of alcohol and thus the massacre could've been motivated by issues regarding payment or lack thereof.

After top level discussions between Sisi, the President of Egypt and President Putin of Russia, its reported Egypt will delivery (or rather send back) 150 Helicopter Engines to Russia. Russia has apparently been in talks with many of the countries it has previously exported large amounts of military equipment to, such as Belarus, Egypt, Brazil and Pakistan, about getting the same exported military equipment sent back to Russia for their own war needs in the Ukrainian Special Military Operation.

Part One Covers Air Defense Systems, Artillery Systems and Ground Vehicles

Part Two Covers Aircraft and Drones, Infantry Weapons Including Anti-Armor, and Maritime and other Military Support.

They then concluded the video stating the top contributions of US Military Aid were Communication Systems, Javelin Anti-Armor Launchers, Bradley IFV's but also other light tactical vehicles including M113's, Humvees and MRAPs/IMV's, Counter-Battery Radars, Medium Range Air Defense Systems especially adapting AIM-7 Sparrow Missiles to Ukrainian platforms, HIMARs and artillery ammunition smart and otherwise but the most important contribution was the intelligence sharing including commercial satellite data but also most importantly data shared with Ukraine from America's satellites, drones, aircraft and other intelligence gathering assets as well as implementing a modern digital logistics and data tracking system for Ukraine.

Perun released a new video talking about the impact of several new weapons systems upon the War in Ukraine that oftentimes were exaggerated in their effectiveness such as being revolutionary. The video is titled 'Game Changers.'

It covers the use by Ukraine of Javelins and other ATGTM's briefly, as well as the M270 MLRS/HIMARS initially with GMLRS rockets and now very recently the long anticipated ATACMS guided missiles... that are twenty five plus years old. He compares this to the Russians use of the much touted TOS-1 Thermobaric MLRS. He also covers the Russian Lancet Loitering Munition, Leopard Main Battle Tanks and Russia's BMPT or Terminator Armored Fighting Vehicles before other general remarks on the so-called "game changers" in this conflict.

Perun did a sequel video on potential gamechangers in the War in Ukraine.

This time he covers the Kinzahl Hypersonic Missile and Stormshadow/SCALP Cruise missile, the Orlan 10/30 Drone and the Bayraktar TB-2, Starlink Internet Terminals and the Russian Strelets System, and Electronic Warfare from both sides. The Electronic Warfare bit was interestingly detailed as it talked about counter-drone EW and how Ukraine (and Russia as well) have likely lost thousands of cheap drones to Electronic Warfare that doesn't get much press.

Umm, i'm pretty sure the ones who were being called conspiracy theorists were those who said USA did it, including very anti-Ukraine and respected on idealist left journo Seymour Hersh.

A Russian Police Detective named Sergei Khadzhikurbanov who helped organize the conspiracy to murder the investigative journalist Anna Politkovskaya who rose to prominence in the wake of her investigations regarding the Second Chechen War, has been freed after serving six months in Ukraine. Five men were sentenced in 2014 for her 2006 Murder, though the persons who organized the conspiracy to murder her are still unknown... ;) Sergei was serving a twenty year sentence.

He's only the latest criminal to, according to Putin's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, "They atone with blood for crimes on the battlefield, in assault brigades, under bullets, under shells." Just last week Vladislav Kanyus, who was sentenced to seventeen years in prison for the knife rape and murder (involving her being stabbed over 110 times) of his girlfriend in 2020 was freed after six months of military atonement. Each of these pardons is signed off and approved by President Vladimir Putin.

Speaking of Drones, Here's a Snapshot of Daily Documented Losses From Both Sides. Most of the 'documentation' was due to FPV Drone strikes being filmed which is an interesting development worth mentioning especially since I feel since it seems doubtful that little drones are responsible for 95% of all combat losses in this conflict.

And Documented Russian and Ukrainian Losses on the Zaporizhizhia Front.

Tatarigami Analyzing Satellite Imagery of Nearby Russian Airbases for Ka-52 Helicopter Activity. Some reports were that the Ka-52 fleet was grounded due to losses, but this thread seems to illustrate that Ka-52 Helicopters are likely still in operation, with numbers roughly being 25 operational Ka-52's at a minimum documented.

Also interesting to note that these bases are almost all inside Russian territory proper (or deep inside Crimea) so them being struck by NATO missiles is more unlikely. Conversely this also reduces Helicopter Loiter Time in the combat zone.

A Ukrainian Sniper Reportedly Made the Longest Range Sniper Kill Recently, with a range of over 3800 meters or roughly 2.36 miles. He used a Ukrainian 12.7mm Anti-Material Rifle. I have my problems with it but I think overall the UN does good work, or tries to at least. Good on the UN for exposing these atrocities.
