Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

The fact that Russia is losing ships at all to a country that barely had a navy to begin with is symptomatic of how deeply embarrassing this war has been for the sick and old Russian Bear.
That is indeed embarrassing if Russia is losing ships to Ukraine alone.
But you forget that Ukraine is well supported by NATO. Intel, money, and military hardware. Without that, Ukraine lost this war long ago.
And they only hit Russian ships with the massive help of NATO intelligence.
Yes, still a loss for Russia, but context is important.

I understand if you have to deny first hand knowledge but c'mon, the idea that NATO and specifically the US isn't passing them any of that intel all those recon planes and satellites are furiously gathering is ... to borrow a term, "non-credible".
I am in tje army.
Not the Navy.
I don't know what the Navy does to help

Either the US Intel suddenly discovered this unmoored, powered up, unmanned wreck hanging out there since... I guess the past two years. Or the Russians reacted so slowly that the US were able to contact the Ukrainians who sent out their USV's around Crimea and successfully intercepted the vessel.

Either way... :sneaky:

Video, with translation, of Russian soldiers reviewing a battlefield north of Avdiivka littered with debris and lost vehicles and corpses that haven't been collected yet.

From last August. Video of the 'Chosen Company' a unit of English speaker volunteers from America, Sweden, Canada, Japan and likely other countries like Ireland and Australia assaulting a Russian strongpoint southwest of Avdiivka.

One of the people who was believed to of participated in the action was an Australian military veteran who was interview was posted up six months ago, earlier that same month.

Video from the Russian City of Belgorod which was apparently shelled by 122mm MLRS Fire Recently Using Serbian extended range rockets.

Ukraine Signed a ten year security agreement with Germany and France.

Russian Forces Advancing into Avdiivka...

Anyone else in the audience getting flashbacks to the pre-WW1 network of alliances and what happened as a result of it? Or is that just me?

Russians have liberated Avdiivka just four days shy of two years of being besieged. First major town or city liberated by the Russians since Bakhmut in May of 2023.

Tally of documented losses in the Battle of Avdiivka over the past several months by Naalsio.

Putin sent congratulations to seven Russian brigades and five other regiments that took part in the Battle of Avdiivka.

Ukrainian APC gets bonked by a Russian FPV during withdrawal.

First shipment of food aid for the World Food Programme this year departs Odessa loaded with Ukrainian Wheat. It's destination is Nigeria.

A Russian Jet, some are stating it's an Su-34, was downed over the Donetsk Oblast. Depending on who you ask, it's either the second or the fourth Russian Aircraft to be downed in a twenty four hour period. Earlier, three Russian planes were also reported to of been shot down, with one Su-35 having documented as being shot down.

Institute of War in its daily update pointed out how the Russians were able to achieve local air superiority on the frontline for the first time since the Special Military Operation started, which is what aided them in lobbing the dozens of aerial bombs on targets in the Avdiivka area in the weeks prior to fall of the city.

Russian Forces Attempted to Advance West of Avdiivka towards the village of Lastochkyne. Russian sources report the Ukrainians using cluster munitions against advancing Russian troops.

Armenian exports to Russia and other Central Asian countries spiked mysterious starting in March of 2022. Reasons clearly unknown.

Also just as mysterious is the spiking at the same time of imports from China and the European Union.

Reports that Russia has executed six Ukrainian Prisoners captured in the wake of the capture of Avdiivka, recorded on media.

Ukraine reports, and Russian milbloggers reinforce, that Ukraine has recently shot down a Russian Su-34 and a Russian Su-35 Aircraft over the Sea of Azov. If true, this is potentially the sixth Su-34 or 35 jet shot down in under three days by Ukrainian air defenses.

Russian Forces are attempting offensives in five different areas along the front in the wake of the Loss of Avdiivka.

Notably Russian forces have started attacking Robotyne in force, the largest of the few towns that was recaptured by Ukrainian forces during last summers Counteroffensive. Some report the Russians made actual advances and gains.

Ukrainian HIMARS strike reportedly inflicted sixty five casualties in the Volnovakha District in Southeastern Ukraine in the Donetsk Oblast. Among those killed was reportedly a Lieutenant Colonel who was in command of a brigade. Rest in Peace if true.

They were apparently assembled for some sort of ceremony to meet a senior Russian General who, at least for his part, arrived too late to see the impact of his leadership.

(Pictures of the Aftermath in this Twitter Posts Replies)

Disagreement over Defense Minister Shoigu's Statement that Ukrainian Forces Have Been Removed from the Left (Russian) Bank of the Dnipro River in the Kyrnky Area.

Ukraine claims a seventh fighter jet was shot down in a span of a few days, this time another Su-34. Russian sources have reportedly confirmed or admitted the loss of three aircraft recently IIRC.

Recent Russian Strikes Hit a Water Filtration Facility in the Ukrainian City of Kramatorsk in Eastern Ukraine (and the sight of a deadly ballistic missile strike on a crowded Ukrainian train station over a year ago IIRC) and a kitchen appliance factory close to the frontlines in Donetsk.

Iran is reportedly sending Ukraine around 400 ballistic missiles, many from the Fateh-110 family of which variants have ranges between 300 and 700 kilometers.

Don't. Do. Formations. In. A. Combat. Zone.

Another formation of Russian troops was struck by HIMARS, this time near the Oleshky Sands National Park (that cool desert area on the Left Bank of the Kherson Oblast). Reportedly at least sixty casualties. The casualties were inflicted on Russian Air Assault, Naval Infantry and Artillery troops engaging in some sort of live fire exercises when three HIMARS missiles struck their groupings.

Also in the same general region there reportedly was the first use by Ukraine of the GLSDB, launched from a HIMARS system in the Krynky Area in Southern Ukraine. It targeted a house that was being supposedly being used by the Russians as some sort of command or control station.

Details of a recent Swedish Military Aid Package worth $683 million includes artillery ammuntion, TOW Missiles, RBS70 Air Defense Missiles and those cool CB90 Patrol Boats that people on the internet said the US should've purchased instead of LCS's a couple decades ago.

Germany looking to Ukraine for establishing co-production of the German Panzerfaust-3 Anti-Tank Launcher.

Since Canada's military is basically blah, they are apparently offering to help bankroll large shipments of munitions to Ukraine under the direction of a proposal by the Czech Republic. Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic, stated his government has been able to source upwards of 800,000 artillery shells (500,000 155mm and 300,000 122mm), along with shells of other caliber types, from non-NATO nations but they want financial help to cover the transportation costs.

According to 'Conflict Armament Research' a North Korean Ballistic Missile Recently Recovered in Ukraine Used Large Amounts of Imported Western and Japanese and Chinese Components.

Shaping up to look like a bad day for the Russian Air Force. Originally an A-50 Electronic Warfare Plane was reportedly downed over the Sea of Azov or even near Mariupol but turns out it was likely downed deeper within Russia proper.

Now there are rumors/reports a second plane, an Il-22 was also shot down.

Impressive Compilation of FPV Drones Striking Russian Military Vehicles around the Bakhmut Area This Winter. More impressive due to the repeated hits in places like open rear hatches of personnel carriers or the drivers hatch on other vehicles.

Ukraines 47th Mechanized Brigade Has Officially Received Its M1A1 Abrams after temporarily operating Leopard 2A6 Main Battle Tanks Last Year. Video has been released of them being used in combat around Avdiivka.

Interview with Ukrainian Air Force Personnel Reveals that Ukraine's loenly Su-24 Unit hasn't lost a single plane on the ground despite 100-150 Russian strikes on their airbase and dispersal airfields since 2022. More of these planes are in service now then at the beginning of the war, and have greater capability as well thanks to upgrades and pilot training and experience such as being able to conducted expanded night time operations.

Ukraine supposedly had a plan in the works to raid the prison that Alexey Navalny was kept at in a gambit to free him.
