Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

Some of you are getting too aggro at each other here.

My feelings: it's a huge injustice that the common people of Ukraine have to suffer, while the Clownworld politicians whose irresponsible antics lead to this situation continue to live in their champagne-swigging la-la land.
For now.

In practical terms, this is what comes of Poking The Bear.
Redpanels called it, years back...

OK, the Boot is stepping in here. The Boot wishes to start by congratulating everybody on both sides of this for not breaking the rules. No infractions, bans, warnings, headslaps, dopeslaps, or the like have been needed to remind you all to behave and the Boot is very happy about this. In the interest of this continuing, the Boot would like to remind everybody to take a deep breath before posting and consider whether or not you are being fair to others. Don't spam up the thread, don't engage in personal attacks, and for the love of all that is holy do not mime.

A lot of the weapons will get misused or on the black market IMO.
So?
Also, you have been providing the regime in Kiev with varying degrees of support for years now, and turned a blind eye when they killed their own citizens and jailed the opposition.
And what do you think Putin will do with pro EU supporters when he takes over? Truth be told we all knew Ukraine was on borrowed time so why feel worried? It wouldn't be the first time we have ignored our principals when dealing with foreign countries and the fact is Ukraine not being a democracy is their problem not mine as most any other country.

They chose their bed, and they will sleep in it.
Now, Putin has escalated things, and you have yourselves to blame, too.
Putin's fired every first shot in this conflict regardless of every excuse to the contrary, granted Ukraine suddenly announcing recently they were going to pursue nuclear weapons didn't help but that was their decision, not the U.S.
Don't throw good money after bad and focus on actual internal problems, not costly adventures far away.
Wow projecting much? Says the guy who isn't Russian but does nothing but suck Russia off and cheer on their invasion of another country which again isn't their own.

I am focusing on my country as always.

EDIT: Sorry @LordSunhawk didn't see your message until after I finished and posted.

First off, the desire of parts of Ukraine to separate from Ukraine were not brought upon by Putin's actions.

That is my view.

Second, I have stated my view as to how all this escalated.

Third, I dislike the regime in Ukraine, I dislike the EU, I dislike the US Blob's foreign policy, and I dislike inflation.

All the above as well as Zilenski's tasteless posturing and stupidity have made me rather enthusiastic about the Russians dealing with the situation swiftly.

As to pro-EU people, well the USA, Canada, Spain, Sweden, Poland and the baltics can take them in the very unlikely event that Ukraine is re-annexed or turned into a puppet state of Russia.

However, Putin hasn't sent the supporters of Nemtsov and Navalny to GULAGs, so I doubt he will do it with pro-EU Ukrainians, it might be surprising but in Russia you can protest and cirticise the government or vote for the likes of Navalny.
This is not the USSR, and it is not the 90s, when we in the eastern block routinely splashed acid over the faces of journos.
