Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

After all the shit that has come out via the likes of Wikileaks, what's been found via FOIA requests regarding Fauci/NIH and other parts of the Swamp establishment, along with the memories of things like MK Ultra, the Tuskegee Experiments, and the like, trusting the US gov to not being doing shit like that is foolish.

Putin can be a belligerent ass for invading Ukraine, while at the same time DC can be an untrustworthy city full of grifters, shisters, plain old evil bastards, and neocon/neolib fools.

I absolutely believe DC has been trying to wag the dog and entice Putin into conflict, to distract from the Wu Flu/Wu Flu vax damages to western society, the trucker protests, the crap economy, and the rampant inflation.

I have better theory - Biden puppettterrs need discration, but Putin need to show, that he is tsar to all KGB dudes who thought, that they could become next Putin.
So,they agreed /Swamp and Putin? to get war which gave them everything they wonted - swamp would keep power,Putin would remain tsar, and that some russians and ukrainians die? who care? certainly not them.

That explain Putin behiavour. He should either do not attack at all,or do that next day after he gathered 100k army, without waiting for rest - Kiev would be his in this scenario.
Why gather all needed forces? Ukraina could not disrupt their arrival anyway.

Seperate memes thread, when?

Ask and You Shall Receive

Post memes in the Donb Ass thread.

Took the day before off (much like the Russian Military hurr durr) because things were going so well but it looks like the thread turned a shade more shitty in the past few hours. Derailed discussions about the Normandy Invasion, Biden's Mental State, the Iraq War and whatnot has been shunted off to the Donb Ass thread.

Might make some new threads pertaining to certain discussions, if so you'll get automated notifications from the staff reposted here.

One thing I do want to bring up is all of the Spammy posting going on. Memes about this War can go into the Donb Ass thread as stated before but some issues as of now that should be nipped in the bud...

@49ersfootball Stop posting so much. Look at what Schro-Wehraboo is doing and Husky Khan is doing in that they are combining multiple tweets/stories into one post. Also stop spazzing in responding to 49er's posts, @FriedCFour and others. Also everyone can tamp down on the multiposting, IIRC @Agent23 had FOUR posts in a row. Learn to multiquote. Every post you make is pushing down what could be substantial discussion

This thread is about covering the Russian Invasion of Ukraine and the primary reason people are here is because they want to see what's going on about it. If you want to shit spitballs at each other over nonsense or other topics, there's an entire rest of the Forum to explore. This is for focused discussion on the Russian Invasion of Ukraine and things directly related to it.

So in short, Memes about the War can go in the Donb Ass thread, stop spamming single tweets or hot takes or sperging replies to almost every post and stop multiposting. If you prefer not to do such things, threadbans can and will be issued instead.

Meanwhile conversations that drift into other topics or are related to this discussion more tangentially then directly (like the Operation Fortitude Discussion or the Biden stuff) will be pruned as needed without penalty as before.

Cheers!

Now I'm off to Snake Island.

AP confirms, Kyiv surrounded. Civilians trapped.

Looks like the Monday timetable will be kept. Ukrainian Forces can either break off to save the Capitol and cede Eastern Ukraine and the south or be pocketed into cauldrons.
You forgot the part where they do at minimum weeks of urban warfare if they don't surrender.
Both of these example cases are considerably smaller cities while at it.

Question is whether the Ukrainians have the stomach to see their capital turned into Stalingrad.
Yup. Considering the current situation though, there is a meaningful chance they in fact do.
And on the other side of the equation, if Russians are willing to escalate this to that point.
Both the immediate and long term political consequences of them turning it into Stalingrad would be... considerable.

So foreign volunteers are going to Ukraine now?

Did post this bit earlier... Supposedly Georgian volunteers are fighting on behalf of Ukraine.

Another grab bag of Unverified Twitter claims...

Georgian volunteers fighting for Ukraine!

But I saw this story as well today. I didn't post it earlier today because it was only about ten guys... and from BuzzfeedNews. :p

Are you saying people were mocking you for saying an Invasion was inevitable?

I find that hard to believe.

Remember this, everyone else, when the same tired voices start trying to gaslight you again.

Like seriously, I think @Zachowon was the only person in the thread to accurately predict this outcome consistently.

Earned every fucking illiterate and incomprehensible bite.

Wish he was still wrong and all of the Putin apologist trolls were right though. :(

He was right if you ignore the numerous times within the past year he stated Russian invasion was imminent, including in the context of the post of mine you cite, just for that to not come true. Specifically in my case, even, you ignore that I noted before the invasion started off that the calculus had changed:

IF Putin is going to go all in, now is the time.

Zelensky ordered a mobilization of reserves which, in theory, should complete within 72 hours. Hitting too soon would've enabled those reservists to disperse to fight an insurgent war should they be so inclined, while waiting would enable the Ukrainians to deploy fully formed battle groups which, in sum total, would outnumber what Russia has deployed along their border and in Belarus. Right now is the "sweet spot" of an attack, where the reserves are still forming and thus can be smashed at their depots when they are most vulnerable. Likewise, the vast bulk of the standing Ukrainian Army is deployed against Donbass, meaning they are far from their base of supply and exposed to encirclement from a Russian pincer which would enable Moscow to destroy the core forces of Kiev in the opening day of the attack.

Either it will happen within the next 24 hours or it's not going to happen at all on the Russian end. After the mobilization of Ukraine is finished, the danger becomes Kiev starting something. The next week will be interesting, to say the least.

Why did I say that? In the leadup to the attack, the Ukrainians committed over 800 violations of the ceasefire, including the use of banned heavy artillery calibers. This was recorded by the OSCE monitoring mission, and thus isn't Russian propaganda; not recorded by the OSCE, but claimed by Russia and backed up by evidence is that Ukraine shelled Russia itself directly twice in the Rostov region, including one such strikes inflicting civilian casualties and property destruction. That obviously changed the political calculus in Moscow, and is backed up by circumstantial evidence; the timing of the attack minimizes the energy embargo threat for one and it followed weeks of allowing the NATO powers to reinforce Ukraine with weapons and resources when said NATO powers had already stated many times they thought the Russians were capable of going in.

In that regard then, I consider this whole thing to be a case of a self fulfilled prophecy. Pretty much everything alleged about this has been wrong, even if the central thesis became true; context matters, but you don't care about that because you'd rather score internet points with this passive aggressive posting.

It seems pretty well confirmed that two Russian IL-76 Transports were shot down and both likely occupied with paratroopers and resulting in potentially over a hundred plus casualties.

No it remains a claim with exactly zero evidence; if the Ukrainians shot down two IL-76s full of special forces, it seems like the type of thing they'd want to get pictures/videos of for propaganda. None has come out precisely because it didn't happen; people would be well advised to stop believing what Kiev is saying because they've been consistently wrong and lying at every turn.

Snake Island 13? Turns out the audio is fake and they all surrendered to the Russians; Moscow released all the details, along with picture and video evidence to prove it. Ghost of Kiev? Literally a computer simulation they decided to run with. Seriously folks, when you're taking Ukrainian claims at face value, start questioning why their "victories" are closer and closer to Kiev, Kharkov, etc.

Finally, and this is the most obvious one to me, why exactly would two IL-76s be shot down in this area when the Ukrainians supposedly re-took the airfield they were flying to (Hostomel) many hours before? Logically, they have to be lying at least about one.
