Tucker Carlson Leaving Fox News

That is unfortunate. I in all likelihood possess a similar opinion of Mr. Tucker Carlson as you do but alas, I serve the people of this forum, not myself. And what the people want, I'll (rarely) put in a minimal amount of effort to get.

I even had a dance ready to welcome Tucker Carlson here.

This may also be caused by the website melting down from the traffic or the sheer amount of content overwhelming any possible moderation.

Lol, salty.

You do realize that Tucker can probably buy this place 100 times over, right?

Once he starts something he will likely get a million followers the first few hours.

I doubt most of his fans were Fox fans first, and it will be great if he bites off a huge chunk of that controlled opposition's viewership.

IMHO he can easily get together with Peterson, Rubin, Crowder and some others, maybe even they can get the Beanie to do a morning segment, and create his own network thet will have subscribers in the millions.

Where do you think Carlson ends up?
Newsmax
Real America's Voice
OANN

He's going to do his own thing like Glenn Beck did with Blaze or Prager with PragerU.

He's not going to be a host on an even smaller network. He's big enough to make his own network based around himself and probably something that can be streamed/watched on the internets (as opposed to also being a Cable network).

So Rumble and YouTube and all of the usual Podcast homes. Plus whatever website/app he creates for more paid exclusive content.

Meanwhile Maria Bartiromo is TEFLON at the Fox Business Network.

Comic Actor Rainn Wilson has fallen to the Chaos Gods...

Hopefully his fellow Hollywood elite can help pull him back from the ledge before it's too late. Maybe with an apology for the violence he caused that actively harmed trans and BIPOC folks out of ignorance or something.

I object to the naming here, Tucker didn't leave, he was fucking yeeted out by that senile old asshole Rupert Murdoch and his cowardly, dumb offspring.
Oddly, its their company!

And they can do whatever they want with it.
(That's sort of the whole point to Capitalism)

If you piss off the boss, and that increasingly appears to be what happened, you can loose your job.
(Its not anyone else's decision, right or opinion that counts)

Funny that all the media corporation bosses seem to be pissed off by the same set of things and there seems to be no one in the mainstream media now who expresses the opinions that Tucker did or provide the information that he did - even though many Americans agree or care about that information.

Also, the idea that any big corporation somehow represents capitalism is a joke. They all receive money from the government and are the beneficiaries of favorable laws and regulations in addition to suffering from the threat of government punishment if they stray too far from the establishment position.

I get increasingly pissed off when people invoke capitalism for why it’s okay for all of the big corporations to collaborate together with the government to turn our nation into an authoritarian hell hole. Oh, it’s okay because a corporation did it.

Ah, yes, the wonderful business strategy of getting rid of your top performer and manage to attract the ire of their viewership.
And they can do whatever they want with it.

Newscorp is a publicly traded company, Murdoch and his crotch fruit have a feduciary duty to the shareholders to make them money and keep the company relevant. The Murdoch family owns only 39% of the voting stock, and there are likely non voting shares, bonds and other obligations the company has to investors.

Yup, they can go (farther) tradcuck/woke and
go broke, and good riddance.
I am glad Tucker will be unshackled from there senile old idiot and his brats.

Confirmed: ex-Tucker Carlson producer suing Tucker Carlson has never met Tucker Carlson
Bitch who tried to MeToo Tucker for harassment never even met Tucker/never was in his presence physically.

Rupert Murdoch, while being outrageously petty and vengeful, is known to have an extremely thick skin where money is concerned. Or that is to say, mock him in Captain planet, and he tries to destroy your entire family. But shit on him as his number one guy and he laughs it off so long as you stay number one.

So this action is remarkably against form for him in some ways.

Also this is crony capitalism and the sooner private-public partnerships cease to exist the better.

One theory says that he got pressure from Black rock.

And Black Rock is another company that does lots of crony capitalists shit and doesn't give a damn about feduciary duty.

The faster we replace Index funds with A.I. the better.

Yeah, they can do whatever they want. That doesn't mean we have to like or support it.

Bitching about it and boycotting the station are perfectly acceptable responses.

Though to be fair I've been boycotting all mainstream news for years now, and haven't even had cable in over a decade. I'll catch a couple Tucker clips when visiting my parents, but that's the majority of my exposure to mainstream news. I've given up on that garbage a long time ago.

I wish I has a way to extra boycot fox over this.

Just post lots of 'Tucker Carlson was wrongfully terminated because of politics and a lie' for nothing on social media to make sure the few investors get the right idea.

Leader of a nation celebrating the removal of the most prominent critic of his in the media

MuH dEmoCracY
Lol, seriously? I mean, apart from the fact the tweet doesn't just misquote him but is in fact diametrically opposed. (He said "but the job isn't finished. I mean, it is finished for tucker carlson." and tweet quotes "we got the job done…and it’s finished for Tucker Carlson…” That's not just a semantic difference. In the first instance it's clearly an off hand swipe. The way the tweet phrases things suggests that 'defeating' tucker was some kind of campaign goal.

But, that aside, you really think that a politician being glad a dissenting voice took a hit is some kinda blow to democracy? Because first of all, that goes back literally as far as democracy does. You'll find plent of ancient Athenians celebrating the failures of their opposition, and the same thing in an unbroken line to today. Second, I dunno how you made it through the trump years, with him going out of his way to besmirch the free press in almost every possible instance. Whether it was personal attacks on the physical appearance of individual reporters, or declaring any network he didn't like an enemy of the people. (Totally not a phrase with any negative historic connotations.)

Honestly, the equivalent of "Haha, I'm glad this jackass is gone." without the slightest government prompting or interference, is just biden exercising his own first amendment rights. Should he have less rights simply because of the job he does? This wasn't government policy, practice or even influence interfering. It was a business deciding to part ways with their talent. Because they are a business and have to weigh the value of the views he brings against their legal exposure for him lying. His bullshit literally wasn't worth it any more, despite the number of people who believe it.

I consider it more of an almost nothingburger because meh jokes at the expense of people is par for course for the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Biden (and Obama etc) have done far worse in word and action regarding right wing media every other day of the year when it's not a joke.

I think it's inappropriate for a leader of a nation to even engage in such rhetoric, protected right or not.
Biden is a pathetic piece of shit.

Anyways, in related news, here is prominent US historian Victor Davis Hanson talking about, among other things, the Tucker Carlson situation.

He also had a lovely bit in there about how the USA is now the 3rd world with these 'fortified' elections and mail order voting.
