United States Biden administration policies and actions - megathread

Watch the GOP Governors bust out laughing at Biden's weakling attempt at trying to block them.
I was under the impression that the states were largely autonomous and didn't have to kowtow to the federal government? It's something that they were complaining that Trump didn't do enough as president. Now Biden is basically doing what they were complaining Trump wasn't doing.

Hopefully they do and don’t crumble like they did after the election

DeSantis has supposedly intimated he will start ignoring Supreme Court orders due to the Biden Admin basically nullifying its legitimacy with the CDC moratorium fiasco.

It would take two Governors with balls to do that before shit gets interesting.

If you're willing to tell Roberts to wheel his brain damaged ass down the stairs, telling the Whitehouse to do likewise is easy.

Hearing reports of people calling for house-cleaning at the US State Department & US Defense Department.

Big question is who's going to be the Fall Guy for Uncle Joe ?
A.) US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken

B.) US SECDEF Lloyd Austin: I just cannot see the first African American US SECDEF being forced out.

C.) US Army General Mark Milley: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Honestly all four of them should resign for this.

This is such a colossal fuckup that was foreseeable. If it's true that Austin and Milley KNEW things were going to go to shit so rapidly (and there were clear warnings this was going to happen) but allowed Biden to overrule them, that is a disgrace.

Then again, as was said earlier, both Austin and Milley have proved to be more politicians than soldiers.

As for Blinken? State knew the risks and should have been on the phone with the military ASAP, and backing up Austin and Milley in their assertions. And like the other two, should have threatened to resign if Biden decided to push forward.

I have a disturbing feeling we could be seeing a President Pelosi in the next few weeks. And I hate that feeling.

Doubt it. Harris is too stubborn and there's no way to actually force her out unless and until she fucks up so badly Congress moves to impeach. And if that happens, it'll spark a civil war among the Democrats, because while the progressives tolerate Pelosi, they don't like her.

And that's before getting into the fact that Pelosi is even more unpopular than Trump among the country at large.

Of course, I just expect all four to brazen it out, but given the other pressures between the bungling of COVID, the economy, and the border, the Democrats will get shellacked in 2022 and probably 2024.

I think Austin & Milley to stick around for the next 4 years. However, I do believe the Dems are asking to get spanked by the GOP in 2022 & 2024 & beyond....

Anyone else predicting President Harris by 2022?

I used to think Biden would make it two years. But he seems to be slipping even more, and this Afghanistan fuck up is probably the biggest presidential fuck up I've seen in my lifetime.

And through all this, he gets too tired and has to retreat to his home in Delaware.

This man is entirely unfit and the media can no longer hide it even from the most loyal of his base

Don’t know about beyond, because that depends on a lot. However, it took, what, 30 years for the Democrats to rebuild their reputation on foreign and security policy in the wake of Carter, and now it’s all been shat away in four days by Biden.

Milley at least is term limited so there’s that but there needs to be accountability.

The only way Harris becomes president is if Biden actually dies. As much shit as he’s currently in, Harris is hated by pretty much everyone. There’s a reason (well, several) she only polled 3% in the presidential primaries.

As it is, she’d be a downgrade from even Biden, given that she is even worse at functioning in any stressful environment, according to those closest to her. Which is extremely alarming, actually, given that “being able to function in a high stress environment” is the reason we HAVE an executive branch.

I'm including Biden dying or declining so badly that he's unable to even pretend, as among the likely possible scenarios

Tulsi would probably win a general election. She'd get the left vote, all of the independent vote, and probably pull a good chunk of moderate right wingers.
Yeah, Gabbard is one of the few Dems that has any real chance of legitly bringing a lot of independents and GOP people across the aisle to vote for her.

Particularly if she was facing an establsihment GOP hack like Pence, Romney, McConnell, Murkowski, or Cheney.
