Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

So it seems very few of the crew survived, 14 taken to Russian controlled areas and rumors the Turk's got 45 more. Also seems maybe a chunk of the True Cross, and rumors possibly a couple of nuke tipped missiles went down with the ship. If any Russian asset was going have a couple nukes on board just in case, the fleet flagship is a pretty likely candidate.

Also, some in Russia are already calling this a causus belli and if there really were nukes aboard...things get very interesting when it comes to salvage rights vs intel collection/who can get to it first, and where precisely it settle's on the seabed.

But...how? Against whom? Are they going to declare double-war (okay, double-'special military operation') on Ukraine?
Has the war up till now just been an elaborate feint?

In fairness, if we added all the chunks of the true cross together, we'd end up with a baker's dozen.

As for the amount dead, that makes this practically a decapitation strike against the Russian Navy, given that it was a Flagship. Although given the quality of Russian sailors, that may or may not be bad for Russia if the person was a political appointee.

Also, let's not make fun of the Casus Belli: it's important to remember that as far as the Russian people are concerned, this isn't a war. Politically, Putin doesn't want this to be a war, cause then he looks weak. But if he has sufficient excuse (read: casus belli) to declare a war (like Ukraine invading Russia/Belarus in force), then he can declare a war and grab a lot more troops from conscription.

Breaking news! Russian officials threaten War with Ukraine if it persists in it's aggressive actions towards Russia and Russian territory!

Pictures of Russian body armor ready to be issued to the brave Russian soldiers in their campaign of Liberation.

Russians apparently lost another of their new Ka-52 Helicopters again. Reportedly it was shot down by Ukrainian fire but it's far more likely there was a munitions fire on board or something... Then gravity forced it down.

Ukrainian T-64 apparently being utilized in an indirect fire role.

Russian media reportedly claims to have killed thirty Polish mercenaries in combat around Kharkov.

Oh, so what we have now is like what? Just a bar fight? Well, there's no fuckin' geniuses in the village.
And above all I think Russia should be destroyed.

Yeah they are already stating they'll launch MORE strikes at Ukraine in retaliation for these strikes on Russian territory, both real and imagined.

But there's also the possibility they'll be using this as a justification to declare war so they can send conscripts openly and call up even more reserves to send into combat and solve some of their manpower woes.

In other words "Nuh, uh! They started it." theatre for the Russian public and history books.

Groups of Russian soldiers attempting to occupy a house instead get captured by a group of Ukrainian Marines

Ukrainian POWs forced to kneel at some war memorial in the Donbass for Russian State Media to record.

Russian Strategic Bombers, the Tu-22's, have arrived in the skies over Mariupol, dropping bombs on the city they've supposedly basically secured already. Quite the bombastic mopping up operation apparently.

Journalistic sleuthing found out the identity of the Russian soldier and his wife who were apparently joking about raping Ukrainian women while he was serving in Ukraine. The soldier is reportedly in a hospital after sustaining injuries in Kherson. A Twitter thread about Roman and Olga Bykovsky of Crimea.

Video of a town in the Donbass lightly flattened thanks to Russian Liberation efforts.

Russia is apparently not informing many Russian families of their lives ones being killed or missing in action thus leading to this fucked up situation where Ukrainian volunteers are using face recoy software and social media accounts to identify deceased Russian soldiers and then contact their families.

Video of Ukranian MLRS units using the cover of fog unleash a bigly barrage of rockets.

Looks like Russian tanks may not have all the armor they think they are supposed to have, even if they have the shell of the armor.

So the numbers are now 58 survivors out of 500+ off the Moskva.

Ukrainian MoD saying at least 20000 Russian troops have died fighting in Ukraine thus far.

Fully loaded Grad captured by Ukrainian forces.

This does not surprise me in the slightest.

Armor inserts are prime targets for corruption, either at the factory where the builders think they can just pocket the money that was supposed to go to creating/installing them and nobody will ever be the wiser, or at the storage depot where people think nobody will ever notice their removal.

You can add not doing the work takes less time, and you can fulfill quotas without the usual delays.
To be fair, you see that kind of crap in many factories where don't exist a decent/honest QC.

Considering Russia produced only a handful of T-80s, it's quite likely this was a Soviet era production, so it's possible tanks on both sides have this problem, though Ukraine would be less affected as their numbers are lower.

More space for upward mobility in the Russian Armed Forces.

According to Ukranian reports, Commander of the Black Seas Fleet, Vice Admiral Igor Ossipov, was arrested by the FSB for overseeing the accidental munitions fire and storm that resulted in the sinking of the obsolete, easily replaced and expendable flagship of the Black Seas Fleet, the Moskva.

Reportedly Major General Vladimir Frolov, commander of the 8th Guards Combined Army was killed in Mariupol in spite of the city being mostly secured for weeks now. Rest in Peace.

This makes eight Generals reportedly killed during this Special Military Operation.
