Election 2020 Election 2020: It's (almost) over! (maybe...possibly...ahh who are we kidding, it's 2020!)

What could he have done?

Election rules and such are different from State to State, and there is little the Exec branch can do to change those rules from on high. Trump cannot control states deciding to stop counting at weird times, he cannot control USPS mail carriers deciding to fuck with ballots, he cannot control Never-Trumpers assisting the Dems via voter fraud/election interference as was documented by Project Veritas, and he cannot control state officials breaking laws by not letting legal election observers do their job.

Trump warned for months about voter fraud, they created a legal fund/the to address it, and have put it in motion to deal with the voter fraud issues.

Trump should have had people on the ground at every precinct in Philly, Detroit, and Milwaukee from election day opening (with live streaming video the entire time). Then had them camp out at every counting location and if observers aren't allowed inside, call 911 and report a shooting at the location (or a fire). False 911 calls is only a misdemeanor with a fine. If it persists, you have Trump take to twitter and call his supporters to put ten thousand people around that building right them and there and lock it down, refusing to leave or allow anyone in or out. You make it a national news story instantly and you demand that your observers be allowed to watch the process.

Slow your roll. It’s not productive to advocate illegal acts no matter how trivial.

Depending on using false calls of a mass shooting is a bad idea, as it only would hurt any cries of voter fraud that come from places it was done.

I... really don't see the point in telling people they're wrong when they think a Biden presidency isn't the end of the world? It doesn't change the bottom line that is Trump fighting this tooth and nail, it doesn't change the populist shift of the Conservative base. People all over are fighting this however they can.

Letting your base fear and panic overtake your mind isn't going to help.

It's not fear so much as depression. At least for me anyway.

If the courts fail, then they've done it. They will have blatantly stolen a election in full view of everyone. Every safeguard will have failed. There will be absolutely no election integrity anymore. And... well... that's it then. Republic over.

I'm just incredibly sad to see this happening and I'm hoping something stops it.

SCOTUS will likely rule in Trump's favour, both via ideological similarity and gratitude for him putting them there (also I reckon some Neocons and Neoliberals who are low-key corrupt might be a bit alarmed at the sheer scale of all this. There's embezzlement, then there's this). Why do people seem to forget that on here?
That depends on what occurs in other states and what ends up happening before the case gets to SCOTUS.

Again, if Trump can prove widespread and systematic election fraud (it occured, its just a matter of being able to prove it) then it becomes an entirely different ball game.

If Trump takes AZ and Georgia then it makes PA the election decider. In an environment where massive, systemic, election fraud is proven you may well have PA simply decide that they aren't certifying their results and sending anyone to the Electoral College (redoing the election is Constitutionally dubious) which would throw it into the House as neither candidate would get 270.

I think you are correct, this going to the surpreme court, and honestly they got caught red handed like this wasn't even remotely subtle red handed. I don't think their was even much of a plan more of a paniced response. I'm actually much less worried now just because so much hard evidence is being gathered so quickly. With several people already ratting out their colleges as they realize that election fraud is a serious crime.

Don't concede anything let it go to the courts also guys stop ragging on the owners and mods of this site, a lot of them are wait and see kind of people. Reasonable but they need time and proof before they accept major accusations, and we already have several mods changing their minds as more evidence comes in.

This is admittedly incredibly angering but this is also a sever over extension, the dems went from having a power election where their institutional power would be slightly reduced to risking all on a throw on the dice. By all means talk to your local representatives, protest and do what you need to do but remember this isn't over at all.

Anger is understandable, rage is understandable good channel it into some thing constructive.

I agree I’m still a bit pissed off myself. Though two days of very little sleep only made things worse. I think everyone should take a deep breathe and relax. This way we can look at things rationally.

Either way it’s out of our hands and we can only really do nothing but trust in the courts and Trump’s legal team to fight this. If you guys are religious maybe let out a prayer for the soul of the country.

We should generally all calm down and be civil here lest this place devolves into what became of SB or worse, r/politics.

Again, choosing electors means choosing the people for the job, not choosing who those electors vote for.
Yes, but they can choose Trump electors.

More realistically, PA would just refuse to certify any electors and not send anyone to the EC this year. Keeping either candidate from 270 and tossing the election to the House where the Republicans have the advantage (vote by State Delegation) and let them give Trump the win.

Entirely constitutional and its less blatant than just ignoring the state vote entirely and sending the "losers" slate of electors.

If Trump somehow pulled through due to the courts and what not, which I seriously doubt, the Democrats and their allies wouldn’t merely riot, they’d conduct an open insurrection with the full backing of the intelligence agencies, media, civil service, and corporate world.

Trump would need Caesarian authority to crush them at that point.

We have to remember even if trump wins the election, it's still going to be somewhat of a hill because suprise suprise Alt-Tech media is not quite as influential as we had hoped and half the US is going to feel cheated regardless of who wins. Buckle your seatbelts kids.
Who really gives a fuck about the salty leftists though?

We had 4 years of the left trying to impeach him, the media lying about him, and antifa running around throwing fits in the streets.

Fuck 'em. You think they matter, if Trump wins? Let them throw their fits.

[/QUOTE]

While I agree that we should refrain from illegal acts, or even advocating them, I think it's important to note that historically when vote fraud was discovered, Americans did exactly what he is talking about and more, and they won.

Of course 1946 isn't 2020, and I doubt any attempt to use force here is going to succeed.
