Hmmm apparently the count is actually four aircraft lost over Bryansk. Two Mi-8 Helicopters and an Su-34 and Su-35 Jet. Unknown if friendly fire or encroaching Ukrainian air defense. Or some mix of both. Almost like some "Ghost" is striking down these aircraft on behalf of Kyiv.

Potentially the worse day for Russian Aircraft since the Special Military Operation began.

According to Russian sources, two Russian Colonels were killed in a single attack that took place in a village south of Bakhmut. Colonel Vyacheslav Makarov was the Commander of Russia's 4th Motorized Brigade and Colonel Yevgeny Brovko, the Army Corps Deputy Commander for "Military-Political Work."

A city in Western Ukraine struck by numerous Shahed Drones reportedly, causing considerable damage to Khmelnytskyi including critical infrastructure and showing the exploitable gaps or weaknesses in Ukrainian Air Defense.

Extensive damage to Ukraine's electrical and heat generating/distribution infrastructure.

Almost Forty Year Old 125mm Tank Ammunition Originally Sourced from Yugoslavia Showing up in Ukrainian Service.

Prigozhin states in yet another video challenging the Russian MoD that his Wagner PMC's are "using their ammunition top stop fleeing servicemen of the Russian Army."

The number of prosecutions for desertion has increased in the Russian military. Already in the first four and a half months of 2023, the amount has surpassed that of all of the year of 2022 reportedly.

Everything Prigozhin does, including living, he does with the approval of Putin.

Even if Putin doesn't support Prigozhin's antics in particular, he's tacitly approved of this sort of grandstanding and infighting in general.

Russians are blaming their own AD system for 5, not 4, shootdown by possible friendly fire a few days back.

Seems Russian IFF systems are still out-of-service more than in-service.

It would explain, why he choosed idiots, corrupted,or both as commanders.
If he have competent generals,we would have putch arleady.

Or...it could be all maskirowka. They are preparing secret super army to take entire world, where everybody would think that they are done.

And,i am only half-joking here.KGB could do such thing - they never cared about how many soviets die to achieve their goals.

Zelensky's European Tour has resulted in a lot more statements and pledges of support, including for more substantial military aid packages. French is offering to train and equip several battalions worth of Ukrainian troops with armored vehicles including AMX-10 Light Tanks. British has pledged long range UCAV's and "hundreds" of air defense missiles as well as aviation training for Ukrainian pilots and working to provide Ukraine with F-16's. Czech Republic is pledging RM-70 MLRS Vehicles.

French pledged SAMP-T Air Defense System Arrived in Ukraine.

Russian Pantsir Air Defense System Struck and Damaged by a HIMARS GMLRS Strike.

Wagner PMC led forces are advancing through Bakhmut proper still, while the flanks continue to erode under Ukrainian attacks as shown on this Wagner Map below.

Longer thread on the fighting taking place recently in and around Bakhmut. Serious casualty rates for Mobiks who spent months training to operate as engineers, logistics troops and artillerymen etc only to be sent in as infantry.

So two things.
One, it is still not confirmed one was hit. Two, they did exactly what you do to overhwlem AD.
Missile Spam. And they used what equates to an air launched Iskander to do it.
Which is easily intercepted.
I often trust Ukraine and US officials more then Russians
Especially on our own equipment.
Fun fact, there is a guy on YT. Who is literally a instructor on the systems. He has made every accurate call about these systems.
He is more knowledgeable then every one on here on Patriot.

Towards the end of one of the videos, you can hear what may be Gepard's firing for close in defense, so it is possible something got through, because the initial launches were 7 minutes before any explosion on the ground happened. Sounds like a saturation attack was pushed through.

It also seems like it wasn't just a Patriot and Gepard in there, likely a NASAM or IRIS-T as well. No way is Ukraine not putting layered AD around Kyiv and the Patriot itself; the Patriot system was always going to be an HVT for Russia, and needs to be part of an overall network of AD systems.

I doubt the Patriot was destroyed, or damaged to the point of being put out of action for long at all, if it was actually hit.

And there is a reason the UK and others are openly talking about training F-16 pilots now.

List of Alleged Munitions the Russians Launched at Kyiv in their latest barrage meant to overwhelm and destroy Ukrainian Air Defense. Six unstoppable Kinzahl Hypersonic Air Launched Ballistic Missiles, nine Kalibr Cruise Missiles from the Black Sea, three S-400 or Hypersonic Iskander-M Ballistic Missiles, six Shahed drones, and three ISR UAV's. There were many angles of attacks and as a result of the interceptions, wreckage still caused fires around Kyiv and one Patriot Air Defense System may have been damaged by a KInzahl or Iskander strike.

Germany is pledging six more TRML-4D Air Surveillance Radars to Ukraine.

Romanian M1981 152mm Howitzer (their derivative of a Soviet D-20) Found in Ukrainian Service, Likely Part of Romania's Undisclosed Military Aid to Ukraine.

Belgium Willing to Train Ukrainian Pilots on the F-16 But Not Offer any of the Jets themselves.

Russian Channel claims Russian soldiers who publicize thanks for receiving donations from volunteers are being deployed to the front lines as punishment.

Prigozhin made a propaganda video featuring the body of an alleged American volunteer from Idaho.

Nick Mainer was training civilian volunteers in or near Bakhmut and was allegedly killed by artillery fire that destroyed the building he was inside of. Nick was a twenty year veteran of the US Military, leaving the service in 2018 and at the outbreak of the War, was teaching English in Spain. He volunteered for service in Ukraine in May of 2022. Prigozhin and the other Mercenaries featured in the video state that Nick Mainer was killed in battle, returning fire whilst attempting to retreat.

New York Post said:
"So we will hand him over to the United States of America, we'll put him in a coffin, drape him with the American flag with respect because he did not die in his bed as a grandpa but he died at war and most likely a worthy [death], right?" Prigozhin says.

Another Wagner mercenary chimes in that the man died returning fire as he tried to retreat. "He was shooting back, he died in battle, so we will hand over his documents tomorrow morning and pack up his body, right?" Prigozhin adds.
