Election 2020 Election 2020: It's (almost) over! (maybe...possibly...ahh who are we kidding, it's 2020!)

No I outright said the split was roughly even, but yeah no matter what happens the federal government legitimacy is taking a nose dive off a cliff. Food for thought, what can you do when equal parts of the population disagree, and will not accept the other.

Up until about WWI it typically ended with one side having no survivors and their young being raised as noblemen of the winning side. So in short a fight to the death. Now? Who knows.

I think there are ways to track and see if someone had tampered with it.

The military is always moving. Changing something like that would not be easy and take years of planning
They have a Mail Core right? I'm just saying how hard would it be for the core to deliver it to be counted in a military poll office and have the. Ounts transmitted from there instead of sending a couple million ballots to USPS to send to a couple thousand poll office mail boxes. But I've gone on this tangent long enough. Sorry.

We don't really have one. Not anymore at least since the USPS is so big now. The Navy uses its own to get mail from ship to shore and vice versa but the other branches don't.

So every military vote is now useless? Because that isn't possible for every Service member...

Mine was. 2008. Our Ballots didn't make it home in time for the cut off date due to issues with mail being transported from Iraq to several other air fields and air ports. What happened they ended up sitting in a warehouse for up to two weeks and missed the cutoff by 4 days. At least I think it was 4. We were told, then told an investigation would launched...and then promptly heard nothing about it. Here I am 12 years later waiting for my results. So far nothing.... :p

And again even more sad. Why must everything cool be replaced with even more of the same soul crushingly boring.

I would have no objection to outlawing absentee voting, as long as election day became a mandatory public holiday in which no business could be open for more than four hours, and all polling places had to be open for at least 12 hours, to guarantee everyone had a fair chance to vote in person.

I think you forgot what year it is. You voted in the future. It is still 2007 duh. They just are waiting.
Well, it happen. I just know mine was as my county informed me it was

Because the military is not all that TV makes it out to be.

And I say that alienates the Service members from voting.
As someone who has a job that can have me doing 24 hour ops, and 12 hour shifts. That just isn't possible. Same for NSA and the like in certain aspects and certain places.

You know what do we really need Halloween? Shift the holiday three days. October is chap with all the hoopla about whether its Columbus day or Native Peoples Day anyway. You guys have too many dumb middle of the week days off.

While I would never agree to e-voting in any other circumstance, it might be a viable solution for service-members if it was implemented internally on the DOD intranet.

So the NIPR? Perhaps. So only those worh CACs can access it and vote.

Still some issues there of course but nothing as wide spread as in person voting.

A few other points
With irreconcilable differences either BOTH sides agree to leave each other alone, and not try to force them to live how they think should be, or the alternative, End the idea that there is one nation and allow states to leave.

It isn't soul crushingly dull and (not)low key abusive mixed with periods of gratuitous hyper violence? Shocker.

But seriously. The USPS is not working out. Why not have the biggest group of justified absentee votes be handled in house? Not saying immediately and not saying there won't be opposition from the group that uses it as an excuse and an easy target cough cough. But sometimes modern problems require actually kinda cool solutions.

The next American Civil War will be the end of the world.
No doubts about that

Eh, if we could have one day voting, I personally wouldn't mind the military or americans abroad not voting, but I'm also someone who thinks the voting age should be about 30, so I don't think something like 2/3rd of the enlisted population should be voting on age principles anyways.

So, I know I'm not really representative of general opinion anyways.

I meant for the 2008 election.

Hence why you should go with peaceful versions of either secession, or allow states to nullify things that they don’t like as long as they don’t affect others.

It isnt as dull no. People just don't know how to make the best of things and complain nearly all the time if they have to leave a cush base for a not so cush one.
Spartan probably knows how that feels.

I was making a joke Spartan. About how your vote will be counted as it is only 2007!

That won't happen and we know it.
