There is a fundamental disconnect between those who want Biden to be president, and those who want Trump to be president; these two groups do not live in the same reality, and hate each other to the point where cooperation and tolerance is utterly impossible. How exactly is a democratic republic supposed to work when the people are so diametrically opposed to each other's existence? I'm not sure the rules matter anymore; whoever wins is going to have to deal with the fact that a large segment of the population refuses to recognize their legitimacy, as will any future elected official, so long as this division continues to exist.
